This year I had a Non-Thanksgiving, i.e. I had to work and couldn’t make it to my family’s get-together.
But in a way I feel like I’m better off this particular year. I earned a ton of overtime working today, and it was pretty quiet on account of it being thanksgiving (I’m a bus driver) which meant a very easy workload. And the most obvious part? Not having to sit with my family and hear them complain about X Y and Z, talk about their respective diseases/growths and argue amongst themselves.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my family, and now that I’m an adult I can relate to many of them on a much greater level. But you know how family drama is. Anyway as selfish as it sounds I’m actually glad I got stuck working this Thanksgiving. I hope my Xmas goes as well as today did (yeah, I’m working then, too 
)
