If one were, say, living in the area of the Gadsen purchase a day before that treaty went into effect why the next day they would have been in the USA, not due to their crossing the border but rather the border moving positions. Not that I expect the borders to change any time soon.

Newsflash, Sunny Jim. I have respect for fellow human beings in most cases. I have ZERO respect for criminals. And whether you like it or not, people crossing into the USA illegally are criminals.

Now, why am I so adamant against illegal aliens, to the point where I advocate shooting them if necessary to keep them out? A variety of reasons come to mind. I won’t bother with the terrorists coming in; we know that is happening. Instead, I will concentrate on three very visible results of illegal immigration:

1. Disease.

Horrendous diseases that long ago America had conquered are resurging. Horrific diseases common in Third World poverty and medical ignorance suddenly are appearing in American emergency rooms and medical offices. Along with the visible invasion of Illegal Aliens across our borders is an invisible invasion of deadly diseases.[4]

Many illegals who skulk across our borders have tuberculosis (TB). That disease had disappeared from America thanks to excellent hygiene and powerful modern drugs such as Isoniazid and Rifampin.[5] ,[6] ,[7] ,[8] ,[9] ,[10] TB’s swift, deadly return now is lethal for about 60% of those infected. The culprit is the new Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB).[11] Until recently MDR-TB was endemic to Mexico.[12] ,[13]

The mycobacterium tuberculosis is resistant to at least two major TB drugs. Ordinary TB usually is cured in six months with four drugs (that cost about $2000). MDR-TB takes 24 months with many expensive drugs with toxic side effects (that cost around $250,000).[14] ,[15] Each Illegal Alien with MDR-TB coughs and infects numerous people who will not show symptoms immediately. Latent disease explodes later, like a time bomb.

TB was virtually absent in Virginia until in 2002 it spiked a 17% increase, but Prince William County, not far from Washington, D.C., had a meteoric rise of 188%. Public health officials blamed immigrants. Indiana School of Medicine in 2001 studied an outbreak of MDR-TB traced to illegal aliens from Mexico.

In addition to TB, we are also seeing polio, Chagas Disease, Hepatitis A and B, and leprosy among others being brought in by illegals.
2. Crime

Now, the scope of the illegal crime wave is difficult to measure, because we’re not supposed to ask. But some figures are illustrative. In Los Angeles, the LAPD has a fugitive warrant section. And 95 percent of all murder outstanding warrants target illegal aliens, and two-thirds of all outstanding felony warrants target illegal aliens. This doesn’t mean that 95 percent of all murders or crimes are committed by illegals, but the people who have turned fugitive are predominantly illegals.

The California Justice Department estimated that 60 percent of the 18th Street Gang is illegal. Jill Stuart recently suggested that in California 14,000 inmates are illegal aliens.

The only category of crime nationally that has been going up in recent years is gang crime. Between 1999 and 2002, gang crime skyrocketed 50 percent, an unprecedented increase. And that increase which is going on across the country is driven by one thing: immigration.

Of any level of government in the United States, counties operate under the most restricted authority to raise and spend revenue. County governments must also balance their budgets every year and live within strict limitations on incurring debt. or water. Many fled on foot into the desert and became casualties. Accidents on U.S. interstate highways are also becoming common, as vans holding immigrants blow tires or drivers fall asleep, spilling injured immigrants out into the desert. Treatment, as well as autopsies and burials, often becomes a county expense.7 Moreover, ranchers near the border, particularly in Cochise County, have begun to organize themselves in hopes of deterring the escalating practice of trespassing across their property. The situation had become so volatile that U.S. Senator John McCain called on Attorney General Janet Reno to take immediate action to protect Arizona border residents from a flood of illegal immigration. “The people of Cochise County,” he wrote, “cannot tolerate the lawlessness, crime and property damage associated with the absence of an appropriate federal response to the flood of illegal aliens any longer.”

3. Economics
   Directly related to both of the above. Illegals are clogging our hospital emergency rooms and our schools and our jails and our welfare systems, and the American taxpayers are carrying the cost of that burden directly on our backs.

From Florida to California, illegal aliens show up at hospital emergency rooms and the costs are passed along to paying patients and to local taxpayers. The American Hospital Association estimates that the costs of bad debt and charity care run into the billions.

A Martin County, Fla., hospital has spent $900,000 (with no end in. sight) caring for a Guatemalan illegal, who appeared at the emergency room two years ago with a brain injury after an automobile accident. He has no money and no family, but somehow he has a lawyer who has successfully prevented deportation to Guatemala.

A Jamaican illegal spent 17 months under care at the same hospital. After he ran up a bill of $500,000, he was finally sent home to Jamaica.

St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach treats one or two illegals a week and Delray Medical Center about 75 a month. Hospitals are required to provide care to anyone who shows up with a life-threatening condition.

Where in America are the police the hired goons for wealthy landowners? How widespread in America is institutionalized bribery of police officers on a rather large scale?
