Happy Rain Dance

I love the rain. It’s coming down nicely here in Los Hideous. Woohoo! I got to wear my Gore-Tex™ jacket and drive with my wipers on and walk in the rain and stand in line at the cinema (yeah, I’m going to see Harry Potter in about an hour) and watch the raging gutters. Too bad I don’t have more time before the movie. I’d make a nice pot of Earl Grey tea.

I like rain.

Me too. Rain is fun.

I lost my rain jacket a few weeks ago, and now all I have to wear outside when it’s raining is one lousy sweatshirt. Fortunately, I only have to walk to the dining hall and back today. Rainy days like this should be spent cuddled up with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book, though a computer with access to the SDMB is alos acceptable.

Oh man, I loved that rain yesterday. I was stuck at work, and it was just sooooo slow (who wants to go to an outdoor mall when it’s pouring?). I loved watching it dump buckets on Pasadena.

I know I’ve mentioned this elsewhere on the Board, but when I lived in the Bay Area this summer, the strangest thing to me was the lack of rain in the summer. To me, coming from the East Coast, summer is synonymous with sudden downpours a couple times a week. Not so in NorCal. It rained only once between like… April and when I left in August. I went outside and played in the puddles I was so happy to see the rain.

I guess it just goes to show how you can take something as simple as rain for granted.

Rain only looks good whilst I’m inside. I had to walk in it the other day, sans umbrella. Not fun. Left me all wet.

Pff, you talk like we never get rain here :). ALL of our rain here in CA south of say…humboldt comes during the winter time.

ANyway, we got quite a downpour yesterday, i could hear the wind blowing, and the rain pelting my window. It made me quite happy to hear it. I think it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow (monday).yay! Rain!

I live in central Virginia, and until yesterday we hadn’t had rain for a couple of months. I have never seen it so dry. Quite literally, ponds are puddles now. So please, everyone in Cali…

Take a deep breath, and blow that cloud east.
