Hadn’t started one yet this season - it’s been such a roller coaster. Now that we’re a third into it, thought I should get going.
So does the Ranger live or die? Is Arnold secretly trying to bump him off? And what of the Glacier Girls? What part do they play in all this?
Kokanee. More than a beer–it’s also a soap opera!
Ontario calls it the Civic Holiday, and lets each municipality rename it to a more applicable local name if they want to, hence the varied responses from this province. Ottawa calls it Colonel By Day.
Its not a paid holiday for me, though, because I work over the river in Quebec, which celebrates St-Jean Baptiste Day/Fête nationale du Québec in June instead, but, as always, I took it as a vacation day anyway (partly because the bus service on my side of the river is running a holiday schedule, so it’s a pain to get to work unless I drive and pay for parking).
After all the fooferaw last weekend, there was no CFL thread?!? We had a family weekend in Creston, with people cheering for the Riders and the Stampeders, and yes, there was a yelling match after the game!
Spoons, we couldn’t even find the brewery. You’d think they’d have big signs, but no.
Which, of course, is a reference to that zany CBC sitcom, Colonel By Day, Rabbi By Night, starring Graham Greene as Laughing Bear Gershowitz who leads a double life as an orthodox rabbi and jet fighter pilot in the CAF.
KRM:
Flat soda?
Heh. Maybe Beep, Vico or Boh?
(Part of me says it doesn’t really matter what you drink to celebrate Saskatchewan Day as long as it has alcohol in it and there’s lots of it.)
