Anyone seen this yet? I caught it over the weekend and didn’t realize how intense the whole experience was 'til the credits rolled and I finally relaxed. Definitely an above average thriller, and clever, too, since I walked right into the writer-director’s trap when I found myself sympathizing with the photographer and thinking the girl was crazy/overreacting. Who else was in the theatre when you saw it? I saw a few adult men there together-- some actually walked out, while the rest just left highly disturbed.
I thought it was fairly well done, though I could have done without some of the jerky camera work. There were a few things about the film which didn’t quite work for me.
I could tell the castration scene was a fake from almost the get go.
Halley, or whatever her name was, left a lot of prints in the place after she cleaned up. Not to mention the whole eyewitness bit. I think I would have preferred a more ambiguous ending where you weren’t sure if he was a pedophile or not. Just an absolute mindfuck of a film where you have no idea if the girl’s nuts, the guy’s a skeeve or what.
