Hardee's can stick their Philly Roast Beef where the sun won't shine.

Are the peppers bell peppers or hot peppers? And if they are using bell peppers, isn’t it then an Italian beef sandwich?

Damn, I hope that commercial isn’t one of ours!

Nah, a Philly Cheesesteak and an Italian Beef are two completely different gustatory experiences.

Here, I’ll prove it to you.

Fly to Philadelphia and purchase a cheesesteak with, wrap it carefully and place it in a thermal container.

Now fly to Chicago and pick up an Italian Beef, dipped, sweet and hot. Again, lovingly wrap and place in a heated container.

Now fly into LaGuardia, hail a cab, and come down to Park Slope, Brooklyn. I’ll consume the two sandwiches and give you a play-by-play on why exactly they’re so different.

Pick up a cold six-pack of Labatt’s on Seventh Avenue before you ring the bell, okay?

We like to stop at Hardees for bisquits and coffee on the way down to Atlanta but thats about it. I’m not real big on fast food. I, too, am of the opinion that the world is not prepared for these commercials. I predict a general hue and cry that precedes their removal. Or on the other hand, Hardees could have blown their whole wad on this garbage and it’ll be in steady rotation for some time to come.

I don’t have a site for this, its just my opinion.

Thanks for giving me a reason to miss work next weekend,Ike!

Not totally true. There is a small chain (3 stores) in Southern California called “Philly’s Best”. Everything including the meat, bread, peppers, and cheese is flown in from Philadelphia. The places are run by people from Philly. The sandwiches are to die for and you can wash them down with a Rolling Rock or Franks Black Cherry or Cream soda. You can also buy Tastycakes, Wise potato chips, and Goldberg’s Peanut Chews, all items that I missed from the east coast.

To anyone in the area:

If you go, do not go between noon and 1pm as the lines are insane. Best to order the food over the phone and go pick it up.

You will not be disappointed.
