J.K Rowling could come in to B&N and write a review, or her daughter. So maybe B&N are just hoping.
Just because they are childrens books, it is not logical to assume that the reviews are written by children. I know an over 40-year old guy that has read all four. Perhaps some bumbling idiot just had to say something, because it seems to me that adults often want to talk more than children. Which brings me to my other topic of discussion. Why have reviews at all? I do not think that I would ever read a book and then, when done, say, “I’ve got to tell someone about this book!” What is the purpose? If the people want to read it, then let them without your opinion baising them! Jeez! They should not only not open reviews 6 months in advance, but they should not open them at all and just keep a star rating or something. Woo, gotta stop before I cant stop myself from rambling, llikeee esooo!
I’ve never posted a review at Amazon or B&N, but I often tell people when I’ve read a particularly good book. Why would that “bias” anyone? I want to know what others who have read a book thought of it, If a friend of mine enjoyed a book I’m much more likely to want to read it.
I’ve read the fifth book. It’s pretty good. I’d give it five stars. Will Durant continues his scholarly study of the Renaissance, and…
Oh? Well FUCK YOU too, then.
{slam!!}
no, no, the fifth book is Deuteronomy!
Hell, my dad’s over 60, and he’s read all four and has preordered #5. And he graduated from Harvard. So there.
Lack of enthusiasm is a sign of maturity? You blase sophisticate, you!
Smeghead: Hell, my dad’s over 60, and he’s read all four and has preordered #5. And he graduated from Harvard. So there.
----------------------- (I don’t know how to do those quote things)
Hey I didn’t say anything about the people that read the books. From your post, Smeghead, implies that I implied that the adults who read the books have a low iq, or maybe I just interpreted wrong. In any case, all I meant was to give factual (if you believe me) evidence supporting my other statements of opinions.
