True…I didn’t mean ‘baby’ as in tiny one. Sort of ‘my little girl is my baby’. It actually makes it worse that she was school age (I think she was like 6 or something, wasn’t she?). My sympathy for Pomeroy went out the door at that point though and I was rather glad when they shot her down.
Maybe. Personally I think he might become one of the great generals of the war. He seems to have the mind for it, and I notice Turtledove goes out of his way to show (and imply) the deep respect his men have for him…and he seems to genuinely care about them as well.
I’m actually hoping Flora becomes the next president…even though she is one of those useless Socialists.
Maybe he’s getting paid by the word?
BTW, why do they refer to Douglas Macarthur as ‘Daniel’…I assume its the same guy, though he can’t seem to find his ass with both hands in Turtledoves universe.
xtisme, MacArthur is probably Daniel because of one twitch upon the thread, similar to the one that made FDR Assistant Secretary of War instead of an elected official, and gave Hemingway Jake Barnes’ injury.
