I think you are underselling it. He was found guilty of a 1st degree crime. That’s a big win. The other more serious charge of predatory sexual assault looked like it was always a long shot. I’ve worked many of these cases but not in New York. Looking over the statute it seems like it would be a very difficult charge to prove beyond a reasonable doubt years after the incident. I’m betting the prosecutors are very happy with the outcome.

Zero. Trump might try to pardon him, but he has no authority over the New York criminal justice system.
Even if HW is charged with violating some federal civil rights laws why would Trump pardon him? Weinstein was a huge Dem campaign donor. (Not that his politics have anything to do with his criminal proclivities.)
Maybe he’d want to set a precedent that helped ensure rich, fat, rapists could avoid consequences?

I’m going to assume not in the US. The president only has powers to pardon those convicted of federal crimes to include military courts. Cosby was convicted in Pennsylvania on state charges. Weinstein was convicted in New York on state charges. Weinstein also has cases pending in California.
Speaking of Cosby his spokesman came out in support of Weinstein saying the court case was a sham. Harvey is in prison thinking “you’re not helping.”
Geoghan was a pedophile, who are particularly reviled in prison. Someone convicted of Weinstein’s crimes would not be that kind of target.

Every man has a mother and many have sisters/wives/daughters. HW is so arrogant that I have a hard time believing that he will last long in prison. While I dont wish death upon him he really deserves it. How many real victims of his are out there? How much did his power and wealth protect him? How many lives has he destroyed? Imo he is at the same level as a pedophile. He had absolute power over so many women and he used it to abuse them. And sadly while he is being punished for a few of his crimes he will skate on most of them. Street justice might be appropriate here.

If you implying that Weinstein would kill himself you would think after Jeffery Epstein’s suicide prison officials will be over-cautious about letting Weinstein being giving the opportunity.
