Or, in my scenario, say you don’t like Bob, so you kill his aunt, mechanic, 5th grade teacher, secretary and pizza delivery boy. A good detective will make the connection, and with no other connection, they have a decent case on circumstantial evidence, especially if it turns out he was porking the secretary, had a dispute with the mechanic, failed the 5th grade, received the wrong pizza, etc.
