Sometimes people like to ask questions to which they think they already know the answers. When an answer doesn’t meet their expectations, or others don’t see the world-shattering importance of the experience, confusion and anger can result. Don’t ask a question in GQ expecting people to conform to your goofy prejudices. Don’t expect the rest of the world to come rushing in to confirm your beliefs. Don’t get cranky when people call you on it. Go complain to angels or demons or whatever the hell rules your mental illnesses.
IIRC, it’s from a Lewis Black comedy routine. He overheard that statement, and only that part, from some girl having a conversation with a friend. He said that thinking of that statement for a few minutes will make your brain bleed, or something.
Whoa. Who exactly is this pointed at? If it’s the OP in the ghost thread he had total (as far as I saw) of two posts the most cranky one being “phew, tough crowd tonight. any believers out there?” Hardly confusion and anger.
If you’re talking about CheekyMonkey613 well I think his story is stupid but he has every right to be cranky about the way it was presented in OP of this thread (making it look like the source of all the quotes were all from the same poster and the OP of the original thread) if I had a more negative impression of Ilsa_Lund I’d say he was being dishonest in his presentation. As it is I’m letting go at how he was unfocused in what he was pitting.
If it has anything to do with me I merely pointed out how poorly done this pitting was he’s the one that told me to go to hell.

heh it’s from more then one of his routines. He used to use it in every stand up I saw him in (I think even once on the Daily Show in the Back In Black segment but I could be misremembering)
He’s blamed it on blood shooting from your ears and aneurysms.
Anyone remember the one he heard in a mall (while his friends looked at cell phones they are going to buy)? It wasn’t as funny as the horse one but now it’s bugging me I can’t remember it.

There really is nothing to explain. You woke up with some non-painful red marks on your skin. That hardly qualifies as a particularly baffling phenomenon. There are a number of perfectly prosaic explanations for such an occurrance. Your personal association of the marks with a dream is an example of a post hoc ergo propter hoc conclusion. In reality, there is no reason whatever to assign any causal relation between the dream and the marks on your skin.
Dreams are highly elusive things yto remember. It’s quite likely that you “remembered” being grabbed by demons after you saw the marks, or at least you subconsciously adjusted your memory of the location of the contact to fit the marks.
Alternatively, it’s possible that whtever caused the marks caused some physical sensation which penetrated your consciousness while you were dreaming and was incorporated into your dream.
In any case, it’s laughable to even consider the possibility of “evil spirits” until all natural causes have been ruled out.
Your friend who told you to move is a frutcake and an idiot. Think about it, are you really going to move out of your home because some fake “psychic” thinks it has ghosts in it? I hope you have a little more sense than that.
