There are not 44,000, and probably about a thousand people on this message board daily. If you think about it, it really isn’t any different than yelling a conversation across a crowded airport terminal.

No, no, no. This entire thread was about me from the very beginning. Ilsa claims that I was dumb to enter my post where i did (GQ), and he very clearly stated that my OP was dumb (or stupid, or obviant of something or other) I think that concerns me. It was my original thread, i feel that concerns me and also Ilsa was rude for absolutely no reason to other dopers, which should concern everyone. Finally, I havn’t appologised to Ilsa, i wouldnt dream of it, as far as i am concerned he is a piece of shit, i just don’t hate him, that’s all.

Well, the OP was about you, and then after that a significant portion of the responses generally seemed to be that Ilsa was taking your minor mistake way too seriously. You could have just ignored this and let it sink and come out smelling pretty much OK, I’d say.
And look, I say this as someone who has nothing against you whatsoever: If you want people to take your posts seriously around here, punctuate and use the fucking shift key.
There aint nothing wrong with the way i smell. I happen to be wearing a rather expensive fragrance from the house of Ralph Lauren! My punctuation was fine throughout, i just didnt use shift, no biggie.
You do understand that “There are spirits” and “There are not spirits” cannot both be equally true, right? Either there are spirits, or there aren’t. This is entirely independent of how many people believein them.
I assume, however, that what you were trying to say was something along the lines of “Both theories are equally valid, because we cannot disprove either of them.” Unfortunetly, this is also untrue, as the evidence for the supernatural is entirely based on eyewitness accounts, which are notoriously unreliable, can almost universally be explained through natural phenomena, and fly in the face of pretty much everything we know about physics. A person can be open minded, and still acknowledge that the overwhelming weight of scientific evidence stands four square against the exsistence of the supernatural. On the other hand, insisting on that ghosts exsist just because you want them to exsist is pretty much the definition of a closed mind.
It is no biggie, to you. To the vast majority of Dopers, it is a big deal. Do a search of Pit threads. Recently, somebody started a thread ranting at criticism of his use of u instead of you. The thread went on for pages. It may be acceptable to type in all capitals, or all lowercase, use leet, u, and such in Hillary Duff chat groups. It is not acceptable here.

This one is complaining about the other one being in the right forum. Ilsa says that the subject of ghostal existance is a closed question, and therefore can receive a factual answer; it is not open to debate.
It’s a fact: Whether you can debate that is open to question.
