I know this is a stupid question. But I have been playing this game for over a year now off and on and still have not beat it totally because of one stinking level where Natayla keeps getting her stupid self killed.
Like I said I have completed every level at the the “007” skill level except for the train. I kill everybody have the floor open by using the lazer watch and I just wait for stupid Natalia to get Boris’s launch codes. Well the time she finally gets it there is only 5 to 6 seconds left until the train explodes. So I go through the floor and start running backwords as I shoot the bad guys behind the crates. And everytime natalia blows up and I fail on that one part of the mission “to rescue natalia”.
Can anybody help me with this level? I want to finish this game so I can go on with my life. PLEASE!
You’ve got to go up to the roof and get the time machine watch, post yourself back in time to the basement, get the bird and bob’s yer uncle. Piece o’ piss innit.
I don’t know which platform you’re using (PlayStation, N64, PC, etc.), but if you go to http://www.gamesages.com you should find a walk-through to get you through it.
There aren’t many video games I really like, but I really like Goldeneye. I’ve beat it all the way through on all the difficulty levels, and frankly I don’t know why you’re having this problem. Keep trying is all I can say.
I used to be obsessed with this game too. Beating the train on 00-Agent difficulty is pure luck, nothing more. The strategy you describe is pretty much the only thing you can do. Get out of that train the split second Natalia figures out Boris’s password. Run a little ways before you start shooting. That way, Natalia will follow you right away and not get caught up in the train explosion as the enemies behind the crates are shooting at you. After a couple seconds of running, turn and shoot the enemies, being careful to avoid hitting Natalia. This strategy will only work maybe one out of every ten or twenty tries, but it’s the best I’ve come up with.
My son can do this at will. I will see if I can get him to post advice on how to do it.
He can beat any game. It’s frightening.
The window of opportunity for us to be invaded from space has passed. If it ever happens, we just set up our defense net as a video game, hand the controls to any 10 year old, and go make dinner. They will defeat the invading forces before the water boils for the spaghetti.
Thanks neutron I will keep try that and keep trying.
Alsp thanks to everybody else.
And shodan please ask your son exactly how he does it I would very much appreciate it.
Also I agree this is the best video game of all time. I also heard it made a ton of money. Are they going to make another one? Not play station but on Nintedo 64 with the same action, controls, guns etc just new levels and thing to accomplish.
I am such a freak about this game I make up new objective like on the Bunker level I try to get through the level just using the throwing knife (no guns except to blow up the monitors) it is a challenge. Anyway I wonder if anyone has heard of a sequel to Nintendo 64 “Goldeneye”.
WB, The World is Not Enough is coming out for N64 and utilizes the same engine and a lot of the same weapons. No word on whether the ever popular Klobb will make the cut though:).
I hated Natalia too- she’d alsways get killed in the control room when the guys come streaming down the stairs. I’d never get hit but she’d catch a bullet every freaking time. Don’t remember how (or if) I beat the train part.
As per a sequel, there is “After Dark,” which uses the same game engine with updates. Damn good game, and has a great training mode with some very well done computer bots to go up against. Not an easy game by any means - challenging to the max.
The World is Not Enough is NOT being made by rare, so don’t expect it to be as good as Goldeneye. However Perfect Dark is the “sequal” in the sense of its being made by the same development team (who wanted to be able to develop their own storyline without the constraints of having to follow the script). http://www.rareware.com
