Anyone actually been on the show and know its real?
I was on several years ago. I knew a person that worked there & she asked me to get a couple of friends to go with me as ‘plants’ in the audience. The show was about cross-dressers & at one point Jerry asked if any ‘normal, everyday guys’ would like to give it a try for the hell of it. Just in case nobody went for it, my friends were there to make sure someone did. Well, unfortunately one of my friends was too tall for any of their dresses, so your’s truly was talked into it.
Several people I hadn’t seen in years ended up thinking that I was a gay crossdresser - not that there’s anything wrong with that, I’m just not. But every so often, for about 2 years, I would run into someone from H.S. and they would say, “I saw you on Jerry Springer…I had no idea, etc…” Funny stuff.
To answer your implied question, I don’t know if some of the show is ‘faked’, but in this case, they at least decided to cover their ass… wish I could say the same.

Sorry, different show. They just showed a before picture, then had me walk out on stage & file in with the others onstage (who were the main part of the show). Jerry said something to me like, “You know, you can’t go back to the old neighborhood, now.”
