How did you like it? Especially the new novella?
I’ve only read the first story so far - “The Emperor’s Soul” - and it’s terrific. I’ll keep you posted as I go.
Wow, that’s one of my favorite authors. I’m reading both of his “Allow of Law” sequels back to back right now.
What is this series and why is it so special? I’m curious.
Apparently, all of Sanderson’s fantasy books, including the Mistborn books, are the same series - they’re all set in a shared mutiverse called the “cosmere”. This new collection is a series of (mostly previously published) short stories and novellas from all of these worlds, with introductions that set them in context.
Note - don’t read the Mistborn stories from the collection before finishing the third Wax and Wayne book. I’m told they feature major spoilers.
Thanks, neat.
Uh, the Wax and Wayne books are going to be four in all, right?
I believe so.
Is it worth getting if you’ve already read The Emperor’s Soul? When I saw it was part of it (and I’m assuming the largest part) I held off on getting it.
Though, to be honest, while I like Sanderson’s work for the most part, the idea of a shared universe leaves me cold. That and I’ve had trouble getting into The Stormlight Archive… not sure if its just because there’s too much going on or what.
It’s not the largest part. The largest part is a brand-new novella about Lift, a proto-Radiant from an interlude in The Stormlight Archive. There’s also stories that were e-book-only until now, like Sixth of the Dusk, Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell, and Mistborn: The Secret Histories.
