nm too stupid
The one thing about him that really throws him off his “type” is that he isn’t living in some shack in Idaho, or with his white brothers in an encampment on a Civil War battleground – excuse me, a battleground of the War of Northern Aggression.
He has said before he lives in Baltimore. Which is fascinating to me.
I still say something happened to him after Trump was elected. We never agreed before, but I at least remember his attacks on me being coherent.
TBF that’s mine too, but my theories tend to be more benign. Mostly they revolve around our communal need for another drink wot you oughta pay for because… let me get my diagrams real quick…
Wholly endorsed. He’s a gum-flapping dingdong.
I thought his performance in that thread was remarkable in that every single thing he said was not just factually wrong, but pretty much the humorous diametric opposite of reality. And he certainly said a lot of words in that thread, buzzing around in it like flies around dog shit. But that was before I noticed someone’s comment upthread about one of Farnaby’s own threads, wherein he shows us that taxation is extortion. That one is even more entertaining.
No wonder the guy is so hostile and bitter. He occasionally must have to leave his fortified survivor shack and go out into the real world, and that cannot be a pleasant experience for him. There are laws to be obeyed and government oppression everywhere! I can’t even imagine what he goes through when he has to file tax returns. Probably heavy doses of Valium and anti-psychotics.
In fairness you could say this of pretty much anybody.
WillFarnaby. I remember that time that he contributed a thoughtful, convincing idea to a thread. Ahh, memory lane.

Ha, ha ha. I kill me. Of course that shit never happened.
I know. I used to be a one-eyed Montevidean nun suffering from Ekbom syndrome, and now I don’t even go to church.
Are we sure he isn’t a sovereign citizen type?
That isn’t too far off libertarian orthodoxy so he isn’t really swimming out of his lane. He isn’t unpleasant when challenged, as far as I remember.
The one that stands out is that steaming pile of shit that was the Joe Paterno thread where he and SA were basically denying child rape was logistically possible and that, even if it happened, both committing it and covering up for it were defensible on other grounds.
Did not leave a particularly good impression of his logic or morals.
Right, the idea that taxation is “theft” or “extortion” or some other very bad word implying illicit criminal activity is quite standard American libertarian orthodoxy, and not incidentally, also standard sovereign citizen bloviation. That doesn’t make it any less funny, in a black-humor kind of way, or annoying, if one contemplates the political damage that it wreaks. As for whether he’s “unpleasant” or not, he was certainly unpleasant enough to get at least one warning and one mod note in the latest thread. And even when he’s not intentionally insulting, I would say that anyone who is persistently and irrationally delusional about the world is likely to be inherently unpleasant. Would you regard an obviously bitter, loudly pontificating street-corner lunatic to be a pleasant person?
He managed to post two coherent posts in that thread. But then somebody disagreed with something he said. And Will went his usual route; rather than defend his views, he began making personal attacks.
Even sovereign citizens believe in the importance and power of government and laws. They just believe there’s a secret code to the legal system that lets you legally do anything you want if you know all the magic words to say in court.
Will expresses the fervent belief that any form of government is by definition a violent and oppressive form of slavery and despotism. That “all tax is extortion” thread would probably have sovereign citizen adherents calling him a delusional nut job.
He seems to think sovereign citizens( or many of them )are engaging in conscious civil disobedience, instead of just being the delusional quasi-conspiracy theorists they are. So still cranks, but a different, more noble sort of crank. The way he talks about makes me think he isn’t one so much as he is an admirer of anyone who stands up against the evil tyranny of government. He’s looks to me more like a bog-standard libertarian extremist, basically an individualist anarchist.
“Real” sovereign citizens are a kinda related subgroup, but they have gone down a side-path where they have functionally embraced a form of legalistic sympathetic magic.
It’s no different from homeopathy or Reiki or dowsing or any number of other scams run on people with enough unwarranted self-importance to demand to know secret knowledge but insufficient savvy to know when something is both utterly nonsensical and aimed at separating them from their money. The supposed “theory” or “ideology” is just used to dress up the base motives of the people involved: For the scammer, that is getting money, and for the scammed, that is getting to feel important and powerful with the promise of being able to get something for nothing, or, in sad cases, the promise of hope where there realistically is none.
I think I once saw him post a “nm” to a thread. That would be the most productive he’s ever been.
