Clomid did exactly nothing for me. No side effects, and no intended effects either. It’s not one of the “big guns” that they get out later… I heard that bloating/moodiness might result, but I had none of that.
Me either. It was a big ~zero~ for me. I was on it for several months because my Rx coverage would pay for the prescription but health insurance wouldn’t pay for any treatments. I never went any further with the high-priced treatments, either.
I did ovulate more - but I’d been ovulating pretty well anyway - went from two eggs per cycle to four on Clomid to eleven on Fertinex. I did feel sort of PMSy on Clomid - I was a bitch on wheels on Fertinex.
We always figured it must have been an implantation problem. The drugs were just increasing the number of eggs giving me an increased chance one would “catch.”
One did catch - more than a year after I went off all drugs and three months before my son arrived from South Korea.
I work for a company that focuses on the fertility medical sector. There are a number message boards that discuss these types of issues in more detail. Please note that I am in NO way affiliated with these boards, and can not vouch for their content as accurate or advice that I’d follow - I have just seen that they are popular and more likely to have topics focused on this:

Best of luck.
Yes. Twice. Worked both times.
Through extensive testing, it had been determined that I was not ovulating regularly, but that nothing else in particular seemed to be wrong (at least in the fertility department) with either my husband or me. I conceived within 2 months of starting Clomid. I don’t recall any particular undesirable side effects, but then there are a lot of things I don’t recall from 30 years ago!
Best of luck, and hope all works as well for you as for me.
Just a suggestion: Apologize to those you love now. Just in case.
Clomid made me mean - PMS without any of the fun. I spent the better part of a year on it, to no success. At one point, my boss very politely asked if I could be more careful around the office because I was making people cry. Oddly enough, the fertinex wasn’t nearly as bad. But I’m a hormonal basket-case, so YMMV.
Thanks for the good wishes.
The prescription showed up in the mail today so I’m going for it.
I’ve already apologized to my husband in advance just in case.
Good Luck!
I took the basic 50 mg. dose to help me ovulate due to irregular periods. Got pregnant during the first round.
Only side effects I remember are one day when I had a splitting headache and a few days when I felt a little overheated. But nothing that alarmed me.
