I called the seller again yesterday and left a message on the machine. He wrote me thru eBay ad said he had mailed them. I asked if he had a tracking number and THIS is the response I got:
Dear papsett,
They shipped out on Monday. Actually no, I was a little behind from the Holidays and now my once perfect feedback is ruined.
[Seller’s name redacted]
Oh that pissed me off! A little behid from the holidays??? I PAID for the damned things WELL before the holidays, and NOW he’s trying to put the blame on me for ruining his ‘perfect feedback’? Which WASN’T perfect anyway, and now is even less so because someone else has left negative for the same thing. I have been in contact with this bidder too, and sent him the mail fraud information.
PapSett, under the circumstances this seems best. We don’t lose any of the force and intent of your tale by doing this, so why not encourage full confidentiality. While the eBay name is public knowledge, disclosing even online handles give an identity to each party in the transaction, and could put his privacy, as well as yours, at some risk.
For instance, suppose someone here read this and then logged into eBay to stalk or threaten either of you?
You could, if you wish, offer the seller the option of going through a mutual feedback withdrawal process, once he has resolved all outstanding issues to your satisfaction (by which I mean, supplied the goods - don’t hold feedback withdrawal to ransom for any kind of additional compensation, or anything - because he could make trouble with eBay for you if you did)
You should not have done that (although it’s understandable that you did). eBay calls it Transaction Interference
