Recently, I’ve heard a great deal about a 1997 book called The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia. According to Wikipedia, this is a really big deal in Russia, and it touches on a number of issues:
- The United Kingdom should be cut off from Europe
- Ukraine should be annexed by Russia
- Russia needs to create “geopolitical shocks” within Turkey
- Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism
It sounds like Putin’s playbook, and I’d love to read it. But from the Amazon reviews, the only English translation is awful. Is anyone else familiar with this book? Do you know where I could find a good English translation?
