I saw two Romney/Ryan lawn signs one Romney/Ryan bumper sticker this morning; first and only ones i have seen.
Oddly, lots of people still have Ron Paul signs up in their yards.
Bizarre.
I won’t ask if they know how the Electoral System works, because they don’t, but you’d have thought they’d have noticed TV…:smack:
I like the fact that there are still people on Intrade betting on Ron Paul winning the 2012 election. The rationale behind that escapes me.
NW Houston
Romney signs everywhere you look
One interesting thing that I have seen, is what appears to be a fairly large number of what are CLEARLY Obama signs that have been handmade. Black, with gold paint, that just say “Obama”. The Obama stencil was not used with a great deal of care.
It is scattered from the outskirts of Northern PA to at LEAST my neighborhood up in North Western Westmoreland county. Kinda odd.
A couple neighbors down the street have Romney and/or Akin signs in their front yards. That’s the only positive thing about these signs, they make it easy to identify which neighbors are idiots.
No signs of any kind in my little town, and one Romney sign in the next town over (also a small town). It’s in the yard of a senior citizen apartment complex. There’s also a Steve King sign in the same place.
There were lots of signs for the 2008 election. I’m surprised there aren’t more this time.
My WAG on the lack of signs is campaign overload. We’ve been seeing TV ads since April here in Iowa and the candidates have been coming here for months, once or twice a week. Even if you’re gung-ho for your candidate, you’re sick of hearing about the election.
Also kinda awesome.
Haven’t seen any Romney signs (his logo reminds me of The Carnival Cruise like logo for some reason) but even the aloha state I’ve seen a bunch of ANTI Obama retoric…there’s a guy who has a Giant NO BAMA graph painted on the back of his SUV for example.
over here in Northern VA (Loudoun County) its pretty even with yard signs. The romney ones are white tho, so its easier to see. Most of the Obama are dark/light blue so you miss them unless your paying attention.
I would say tho that the bumper sticker battle here goes to Obama.
I’m in Southern California on the coast. That’s why I am surprised to see so many Romney signs and so few Obama. But then again, I’m for Obama and don’t have an Obama sign in my yard…
Like someone said upthread, it could be that the type of people who favor Romney are the same type of people who like to put signs in their yard. Or it could be that people who feel desperate are more likely to try to advertise their cause to garner support. I know the race is close, but most people in this area seem pretty confident that Obama has it locked up. I suppose that if people here thought Obama might lose, they might rush out and get Obama yard signs to try to impact others.
When my kids were little they decided that Gore was going to win “by a landslide”. Huh? “Well, all we ever see are Gore signs. Our friends have been looking hard, and we’ve only seen one Bush sign”. Ah, life in our nice little insulated Lib-ville…
I have seen four Romney signs. That’s the total on my cross-town commute.
I live in a suburb with a black population, a population of Ultra-Orthodox Jews, and a smattering of everything else. The only place I’ve seen Romney signs are in the Ultra-Orthodox neighborhood. Everyone else is for Obama, with quite a few yard signs . . . except for me; Sandy stole my yard sign.
Grand Rapids, MI - the only Romney signs I’ve seen have been on public roadways, with one or two exceptions. Of course, my neighborhood and stompin’ grounds are solidly middle-class, so that may have something to do with it. Haven’t seen a single Romney bumper sticker.
Quite a few Obama signs and bumper stickers, and quite a lot of signs for props, judges, and other local races.
On way home from sister’s wedding, saw people holding Romney signs, Dad beeps, all I could do not to flip them off! (MA)
In Central TX, I haven’t seen many signs or bumper stickers at all. Usually they’re everywhere at this point but this cycle it seems like both sides can’t be bothered. Of the few I’ve seen there have definitely been more Romney ones but this is a red county so no shock there.
Yeah, I’ve seen some yard signs. I’m not sure I pay enough attention to say if there are many bumper stickers.
Tampa Fl here – overwhelmingly Romney on the yard signs. Even in some of the apartment complexes there are Romney yard signs on people’s porches (lani whatever). Last election I was not seeing yard signs for either candidate in the apartment complexes.
Bumper stickers have been more for Romney than for Obama. On Tuesday I counted 38 for Romney and 12 for Obama – on the Obama ones I tried to make sure I was getting the 2012 ones not left over 2008 which many cars still have. On 3 cars (total not just the day I counted) I have seen 2008 Obama stickers with Romney stickers.
On drives to both Orlando and Sarasota I have seen a large tractor trailer in a field (Rt 4 to Orlando) with Forward and side of the building size banners (2 on Rt. 75) for Romney.
Just north of Boston, and now that I’m thinking about it I haven’t seen any Romney signs. Lots of NObama and “Save America, Vote Republican” and “01.20.2013”, and rather hilariously, [this](<a href=“Photobucket” target=“_blank”><img src=“http://i46.tinypic.com/6yp24m.jpg” border=“0” alt=“Image and video hosting by TinyPic”></a>) but nothing endorsing Romney in particular. Lots of Scott Brown signs, though.
Working out in Chicago exurbia (Yorkville, Kaneville, Elburn, Sugar Grove) I’m not seeing much of anything. A few Obama signs and a couple large (5’x5’ at least) Romney signs supported by snow fence posts along some corn fields. A lot more signs for House and local races.
Joliet/Plainfield is about the same, minus the giant Romney signs. Very few presidential election signs and tons of more local signs. Lots of signs for Democratic House and local races around my place. Some Republican signs but maybe half as many.
