Over the weekend my fiancee and I decided to rent a couple of movies. One of them was Corn. The cover looked pretty good, a bunch of evil looking sheep how could we go wrong?
Well we did, there were no killer sheep, and it was a drama. Why do they do this? Are they hoping that the people who like cheap horror movies going to get it, because we did!
I guess the movie was ok, it was about genetically engineered corn and the sheep were eating it. Then people were eating the sheep. Lots of women in the area were having children with birth defects or born dead. The main woman was pregnant and tried to take on the company who was producing the corn.
Damnit I wanted killer sheep, what a story that could have been. Anyway did anyone else get taken by the cover of this movie, or any other for that matter?
This does explain Children of the Corn, however.
They were the offspring of women who ate sheep who ate genetically engineered corn.
Don’t you love it when Prequels dispel any remaining mystery?
I’ve seen the cover. You got what you deserved.
Alarmist European Propagand?
I’d rent it.
What kind of birth defects? Like strong bones and muscles? Better eyesight?
(Just kidding I have no idea what the deal is with Franken-food)
TGhe deceptive cover is an artform unto itself. Here in LA most smaller video stores stock low budget indie films liek they would any other hollwyood flick. I’ve been burned too many times by the sight of a hot girl with a gun (usuallly with sunglasses and/or vampire teeth) only to rent the movie and find neither.
No, no I was hoping for a really bad horror movie that I could have fun with. And the cover looked just like I was looking for. Instead it wasn’t a horror movie at all! Bastards.
Starring Jena Malone? Is it written by Liz Lemon?
Aye, you rented the wrong movie. The movie you want is Black Sheep.
This is why you are supposed to flip the box over and READ THE BACK!
The production values are surprisingly excellent for such a silly movie.
Normally I wouldn’t participate in my own zombie thread, but Black Sheep wasn’t out when Corn was out. I have seen Black Sheep and thought it was great.
And thank you Fear from bringing back bad memories.
