I love Louise Fletcher. She’s an incredible actress. But outside of Star Trek fandom and this board, you’ll find about one in a hundred people who will recognize her name. Her FACE, yes…but it’s the kind of thing where people go “That’s…HER…whatsername! She was in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Big Eden and Flowers in the Attic! What’s her NAME?!”

Yes, she’s a throwback to the days when they gave the Oscar to someone who could act.

I wish Stephen King had published Misery sooner. Not to disparge Kathy Bates, but image what a younger Louise Fletcher would have done with the role.
