has there EVER been a triple black diamond on mont sainte anne?

a friend of mine and i recently had a debate: we were riding mont sainte anne (in quebec) 3 years ago, and he’s absolutely convinced taht there was a glades trail on the mountain that was a triple diamond. i tried to explain to him that no, it was a double black diamond, and even showed it to him on a trail map. he offered the explanation: “they must have changed it, 'cause i distinctly remember taking a picture of the trail sign, because it was a triple black.”
I remember the picture being taken, but i remember it for a different reason. my guess is that it was “les sept-chutes,” a double black glade down the middle of the south-facing side of the mountain. anyone living in the mont sainte anne area have any light to shed on the subject? was les sept chutes - or any other trail on the mountain, for that matter, ever a triple black diamond?

no replies?

no one knows?

Well, it’s an awfully specific question. Why not email the mountain?

Never heard of a “Triple”. Been down plenty of Doubles round these parts (Sierra Nevadas) and have never seen one or heard of one. Your buddie smokes dope?

I know that when Sunday River, ME opened up some new terrain a time back, some single black diamonds were downgraded to blue squares, so downgrades do occur. I don’t remember ever hearing of any triple diamonds on the east coast though, and I think that would be something that would be emphasised in a mountain’s advertising.
