Bob & Seanette's Adventure, on the Thirtieth Anniversary of our Marriage…

As of today, @Seanette and I have been married for THIRTY years.

Not really because of that, we went today, on an epic adventure.

I became aware, a few weeks ago, of a mountain peak appearing prominently on the horizon, from Sacramento, off in the distance, roughly to the southwest. I got it in mind, then, to want to identify that mountain, and to go to it.

So, today, @Seanette and I set out to do just that.

It turns out to be Mount Diablo, approximately in the Bay Area.

I planned a route that would hopefully give us a line of sight to it as much of the way as possible.

Around Rio Vista, we encountered a large field that was infested with monstrous giants, of ill repute, standing between us and our goal, flailing their arms menacingly at us.

But we knew that these foul monsters would not dare molest us, for we were in a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, a vehicle truly fit for a modern knight errant. If Don Quixote himself lived in our time, surely he would drive such a vehicle.

Finally, we reached our goal, the summit of Mount Diablo.

We were there greeted by a foul dragon, but that beast did not seem concerned with us, and went on about its business, perhaps to burn and pillage some nearby community.

After spending time on the mountain, we returned by a different route, and saw more foul giants, in the mountains above Livermore, but again, they did not dare try to do any more to us that flail their arms at us, trying to scare us.

We made a stop at the Ghirardelli facility in Tracy, where we purchased some fine chocolate; after which we returned home.

Hearty anniversary congratulations to you both! May you have many more.

Congratulations.

Your story reminded me, I’ve been on Mount Diablo. I was sent to Pleasanton for corporate training a million years ago, and I asked around for a nice local park to visit where I could get some fresh air in the evening. They sent me there.

Of course, this was in early September, and the mountain was swarming with tarantulas…

Congratulations. Great story

Happy anniversary - glad you enjoyed your trip!

Happy anniversary. A great story well told. And about the right ambition for a 30th; left you time for a nap once you got home.

And happy Doperversary to you @hajario. On a Monday no less.

happy anniversary

Thanks buddy. I would never have noticed.

Happy Anniversary!

Congrats! My wife and I are about to hit the 31 mark, except we are planning to go to a waterfall neither of us has been to. Mt Diablo sounds nice!

What does Buddy have to do with it?

Happy anniversary, you two crazy kids!
