As of today, @Seanette and I have been married for THIRTY years.
Not really because of that, we went today, on an epic adventure.
I became aware, a few weeks ago, of a mountain peak appearing prominently on the horizon, from Sacramento, off in the distance, roughly to the southwest. I got it in mind, then, to want to identify that mountain, and to go to it.
So, today, @Seanette and I set out to do just that.
It turns out to be Mount Diablo, approximately in the Bay Area.
I planned a route that would hopefully give us a line of sight to it as much of the way as possible.
Around Rio Vista, we encountered a large field that was infested with monstrous giants, of ill repute, standing between us and our goal, flailing their arms menacingly at us.
But we knew that these foul monsters would not dare molest us, for we were in a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, a vehicle truly fit for a modern knight errant. If Don Quixote himself lived in our time, surely he would drive such a vehicle.
Finally, we reached our goal, the summit of Mount Diablo.
We were there greeted by a foul dragon, but that beast did not seem concerned with us, and went on about its business, perhaps to burn and pillage some nearby community.
After spending time on the mountain, we returned by a different route, and saw more foul giants, in the mountains above Livermore, but again, they did not dare try to do any more to us that flail their arms at us, trying to scare us.
We made a stop at the Ghirardelli facility in Tracy, where we purchased some fine chocolate; after which we returned home.
