Has Trump shown the ability to actually think?

I see a different 47 from 45 in a lot of ways. One key difference is that he has surrounded himself with very influential people that could take him down in a heartbeat. He has left himself very vulnerable and he knows it. There is a marked difference in his level of humility. He is still an ego maniac but much more measured. He is no longer feeding the public what they want to hear. .He sees himself as an architect of the future. This can be an extremely powerful influence on public opinion ans support if he pulls it off.

Re last post, I give points for bravery and suspect it is about half true.

Trump is doing a lot that he knows isn’t popular with the average American, or even his base. He is way out past Project 2025. If successful — say, with a quick conquest of Greenland — he will gain a good deal of U.S. public support for measures that hardly anyone wanted before January 20.

He is also becoming one of the great villans of history.

As for leaving himself vulnerable, I think this is true on policy. A tariff-fueled recession will be hard to hide. I do not see how the influential people around him make him vulnerable. Who are you thinking of? Wiles? Hegseth? Bondi?

And vengeance. He spends a lot of time thinking about how to get back at anyone who has ever crossed him in any way. His entire focus appears to be on either making himself more money, or screwing anyone who ever said or did anything that was against him.

Hell, I still think that if Obama hadn’t told jokes about him at that Press Correspondents Dinner, he never would have run for President in the first place.

I disagree with this. Trump’s thought processes are like a New York City rat. He’s sly and shrewd, good at escaping traps, vicious in a fight, and not to be trusted with economic policy.

I feel that is somewhat unfair to New York City rats. They don’t obsess around the clock about revenge. And they likely smell better.

He is really smart! He figured out what every middle schooler knows but Trump never learned. Just from context!
