From what I can tell in this whole sordid and gripping saga
General Patraeus (sp?) had an affair with Mrs Broadwell
General Patraeus had a friendship with some lady in Florida.
Mrs Broadwell thought that the Florida lady was having an affair with Patraeus and sent her threatening emails. The FBI began an investigation
A G-man who was conducting the investigation got smitten by the lady in Florida and sent her topless pics of himself.
The lady in Florida was probably not having an affair with General Patraeus, but possibly was having an affair with or inappropriate contact with General John Allen.
Is that all thus far. Have I got everything correct here? Dear god I hope not because seriously who writes this shit?
I’d love to read some of those threatening e-mails from Mrs. Broadwell: “Hands off the general, bitch. He’s MY adulterous lover–cheat with him cheating on me and your ass is MINE, understand?”
A G-man got smitten by the lady in Florida and sent her topless pics of himself.
Mrs Broadwell thought that the Florida lady was having an affair with Patraeus and sent her threatening emails.
The lady in Florida complained to her friend the G-Man. The FBI began an investigation in which it would be discovered that the G-Man had sent the lady in Florida topless pics of himself.
You also have the G-Man informing a member of congress directly about the investigation because he was afraid it wasn’t being pursued. In addition, the Florida lady has a twin sister in a custody battle who was vouched for by both generals.
I have also heard on some news progam that the “threatening emails” were not substantial enough to warrant the degree of FBI involvement and the case should have either been dropped or turned over to local law enforcement.
Why is the FBI investigating this? They figured out who was sending the e-mails, but the investigation seems to be ongoing. They must have more justification than just figuring out who’s been sleeping with whom. One article mentioned find classified documents on Broadwell’s laptop. Oh, boy. A Mata Hari angle would just make this story weirder.
