Have Republicans put Alaska in play?

Can Obama change the RFK back to the Triboro?

One of these things is not like the others. In 2012, Alaska was at R+14, Montana was at R+13, and Wyoming was at R+41. In a good year, with the right candidate, Alaska or Montana could in fact be flipped. Wyoming, not a chance.

Ohio will be in play, McKinley notwithstanding.

Too soon!

Now and forever!

Changing the name to Denali is stupid, granted, but really, this doesn’t mean much. Trump is going to take any position that gets him press, and Kasich is Governor of Ohio, so of course he’s got to stand up for President McKinley’s memory.

“He has all the backbone of a chocolate eclair.” - Teddy Roosevelt

Montana almost was in 2008. The only state McCain won by a smaller margin was Missouri.

It is so absurd. Until a few days ago, I bet you 99% of Republican’s in the state of Ohio had zero idea that there was a Mt. McKinley in Alaska. Not only is this just BAU for the Republican Party in creating issues over every single thing President Obama does, it is blatant hypocrisy and goes against what the Republican Party even claims to stand for in terms of state rights. Alaska has been petitioning the federal government to change the name back for decades but have continually been blocked by one Ohio politician, Congressman Regula. From 1975 until 2009 he has blocked this at every opportunity. So here you have one individual preventing an entire state from getting the name changed back and it isn’t even the Ohio congressman’s damn state!

I wish he would!

I don’t drive in NYC very often, but I did the other night and kept seeing signs for the “RFK Bridge.” I wanted the Triboro so I could head up into the Bronx and (a long while later) home, but there were no signs for it.

I assumed that the RFK was some little piddling bridge connecting Queens or Brooklyn to Manhattan or something, and was beginning to get a little concerned (what have they done with the Triboro??) when they put up a helpful sign reminding me (I think I had known this once) that the Triboro was now known as the RFK bridge. Ah, I said, made the turn onto the bridge and arrived safely home an hour and a half later.

C’mon Barack, you can do it!

As the aforementioned Mr. Campbell is long dead, I don’t suppose his memory is all that good any more. So I shall insult it all I like, sirrah! Cudgels at dawn.

“Yo mama so dumb, her memory worse than Charles D. Campbell’s”

“Charles D. Campbell’s memory walks into a bar…”

There’s a voke-tech high school at Campbell Hill which could quite easily be named after McKinley, just like the one in Lima on “Glee”.

The man has a nice statue on the statehouse grounds in Columbus. That’s enough.

I think that the Ohio Republicans who think this is even an issue should scout locations in Ohio to build a man-made mountain even higher than Denali, that can be named Mount McKinley. That’ll show those Alaskans who’s boss!
