Well, I think then that you make more out of Breaking Bad than it really was. It was just, at its base, a fun showing of what would happen if a naive middle aged dude got involved in the drug trade. It’s a stupid fictional show. No more, no less culturally or historically relevant than My Little Pony or Dragnet or the Jack Benny Show or whatever those young hipster hoodlums are into these days. Breaking Bad was just a fucking television show.

I didn’t bring it up, someone else here compared MLP to Breaking Bad, but couldn’t find any critics who agreed.
I’m pretty sure the woman who created the show was just trying to create a fun show for kids anyway and never intended for some ‘subculture’ to develop on 4chan dedicated to analyzing it that deeply either.
Yawn, stay with the program, I didn’t bring up Breaking Bad, it’s not even my favorite show, a little too dark and nihilistic.

Amazing how many schoolchildren can’t just own up to the fact that they enjoy a silly kid’s show, I happily admit I like Looney Tunes because watching Bugs clobber Elmer Fudd is funny, not because I’m undertaking some deep existentialist study into the hidden meaning behind “hey, what’s up Doc” or crap like that.

It’s only a comparison in the sense that both MLP and Breaking Bad are television shows, and that watching them indicates nothing about your life or habits, as far as I can see. Then YOU responded with MLP is no Breaking Bad. So the “comparison” was yours.
Except I never said that watching MLP makes you more likely to… molest horses or anything of that nature.
I just implied that a single adult male who spends his free time writing erotic fan-fiction about underage cartoon ponies, or who ‘identifies’ more with a quirky children’s show that he likes than any of his real life accomplishments or relationships, might be a tad lacking in manhood.

If it was of little consequences to people then why did 4-5 different posters show up cherry picking that one little sentence about “Bronies” just to go off on rants about how ‘deep’ a show it really is and how Bronies are misunderstood or something? I doubt anyone who hasn’t heard of 4chan even knows that ‘Bronies’ exist to begin with.
All I can say is that if the core of a person’s ‘identity’ is based around a cartoon they watch, and they’re so fragile that they can’t bear the fact that most people aren’t going to think that watching a cartoon written for young girls is “manly” then they really need to do something meaningful with their life, instead of indulging in self-masturbatory fantasizes about how ‘persecuted and misunderstood’ Bronies are, like a hyperemotional ‘Goth kid’ just entering his freshmasn year of high school
