Have to admit it, I am a very change-resistant person

At least on a personal level, I could even say so on a societal level.

Idk, I guess I am growing up in a very dark generation. And my lifestyle is getting more sedentary for me. Which I am trying to fight

Is funny because as a kid I was the complete opposite, I was all about seeing society progress and wanting to grow up. Guess not anymore.
Well then how do I embrace change? Have to find one way or another.
Thnx in advance :d

And yes there are some changes I like and I am trying to think of the good ones more than the bad ones.

How to embrace change? Realise, then accept that it will happen, whether you like it or not. Your resistance to change will not stop change from happening.

Read the story of The Zax by Dr Seuss.

The world will move on - change will happen - you will either embrace it and move with the flow, or you will be inconvenienced by it, crushed by it, or left behind and will find it harder and harder to continue functioning. Which sounds easier?

“As a kid”? You’re 16 y.o., ffs. Still a kid by almost any standard and very far from being “grown up”.

What does your therapist recommend when you bring up your tendency to resist change?

Don’t know, haven’t really discussed it yet.
But like I said is more about my personal life.

Obviously the first one without a doubt. The unexpected happens though very often.

Personal life is what therapy is for. :smack:

Are you on meds?

In that case, you should be learning to expect it by now

Perhaps it would help if you gave a couple of examples of the sorts of things that are concerning you in this context. I can’t tell whether you’re getting in a knot about not being able to control the changing of the weather (you can’t - so give up), or the change of packaging for McNuggets (it doesn’t matter - let it go).

Sounds like Boris Badunov.

I wish.

People at work are starting to talk about the vodka empties in my office recycling bin.

I think she was asking the OP.

Who should be… (not being sarcastic, serious suggestion!)

I didn’t want this to get too serious; OP is part of ‘a very dark generation’.

Yea, I was asking Luc700.
Sorry for the confusion.

Alright, alright… I get it, people! It wasn’t funny.

You don’t have to shove. I’ll let myself out…

No I am not

Long time ago
Lifestyle’s gotten more sedentary outside of my fitness routine. Depression is worse for me than ever at times, I am struggling to express my identity more than ever. Yeah, I am sure talking this out will help with both therapy and you guys.

Tell us about a recent situation where you found yourself resisting to change.

I say it all started just around 4 years ago.

That’s not what I asked.

Do you always interrupt story time like this?

Then what do you want me tell you? There’s no particular situation, is just a phase I been going through.
