Yes, Tough is an ex-racer. All our hounds have been - and they have ranged from ‘very sweet but not the brightest bulb in the box’ to ‘so smart we needed to change the back door’s hardware from a lever to a knob’ because that one learned how to let himself out. I am very glad he didn’t have thumbs. Tough is somewhere in between - his mom has figured out how to open a microwave, but he’s not quite that motivated.
here’s a slide show of the cats. We adopted the two younger ones from
the humane society last summer. Juanita was born with one eye. (Donovan, the grey and white one, already had his name when we got him. Juanita got her name from a song by (the singer) Donovan.

This is Frizzle. He came to our door with his younger brother Chocolate Chip (now deceased) about 12 years ago. He looks a lot more frail now and we think he’s going senile.
And this one is Beetle, sitting on my brother’s lap. She also came to our door, about eight or so years ago. She’s just cute. She’s quite obese now, but still cute.
