Have you bought anything interesting for Amazon Prime Day(s)?

I’m looking for a new router but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Anyone get a good deal on something?

I might do the AMC+ for 99 cents a month for two months to catch up on Better Call Saul.

I signed up for the AMC+ 2 month offer to see some of their shows like “This is Going to Hurt” and to get Shudder but for some weird reason that makes no sense, the first half of “Better Call Saul” season 6 is not available to stream on AMC+ unless you also buy each episode. It doesn’t look like they have older seasons either probably because they are exclusive to Netflix.

Thank you for bringing that deal to my attention. I just signed up for Showtime+ for the same price so I can watch Dexter: New Blood.

I also took advantage of the “Buy a $50 gift card, get a $12.50 promotional credit” deal. Then I applied the gift card to some patio furniture, something I was planning on buying anyway and happened to find a set that was 40% off for Prime Day.

Come to think of it, I think that promotional credit will get applied to my Showtime+ subscription, so I’m effectively getting it for free.

An interesting phenomenon this year - two random items that I browsed yesterday, I came back to today and there were good Prime Day discounts on them, enough to make me pull the trigger on both. Possibly a coincidence, but maybe they are giving targeted offers.

Funnily enough, I’ve been noticing a version of the phenomenon where you see a bunch of targeted ads for a thing after you already bought that thing. E.g. I ordered some Dockers from Amazon a few months ago, now they’re recommending Prime Day deals on Dockers apparel to me. Unfortunately I don’t need any more clothes at the moment.

Not terribly interesting, but I bought a set of Samsung noise-cancelling ear buds at a 40% discount.

The only thing that tempted me on Prime Day so far is all of season 6 for $9.99.

I looked at the manual blood pressure cuff/stethoscope set on Prime Day sale, but it was rated worse than another one, not on sale, for the same price.

So I just read the terms and conditions for that promotional credit. As it turns out you can only spend it on items sold directly by Amazon, not third parties, even if it’s fulfilled by Amazon. Which is a small portion of things for sale on Amazon. That’s kind of annoying (and means it does not, in fact, get applied to my Showtime+ subscription).

Oh well, if worst case I’ll just use it to stock up on Amazon brand toilet paper or something.

Thanks for the head’s up. That’s really all I wanted it for. Guess I’ll just wait until it hits Netflix in a year or two.
