I was responding to my personal experiences with prostitutes. I interviewed them, and in some cases I had to pay them before they would be interviewed (and THAT crosses all kinds of ethical boundaries, I can tell you!)

I have a kind of naive question: If **commasense ** is, in fact, moderating this thread, shouldn’t he/she be identified as a moderator? Otherwise, what business does he/she have trying to guide the thread?

As I recall, her plan was/is to cater to women only. According to her website (or at least the Google cache; as I’m at school and the site itself is blocked):

One of the twists that I remember hearing about for her opening a brothel employing males is that the statutes regulating prostitution require a regular (weekly?) STD exam, including pelvic exam–obviously an issue to perform on men. I can’t seem to find the statute however, so take that FWIW.

“Moderators” on the SDMB don’t guide threads. Moderators enforce the rules of the board. What commasense is doing is requesting that the thread he started remain on track, but he has no power to enforce that request.

It is generally considered a violation of our cardinal rule, “Don’t be a jerk,” to completely and deliberately hijack a thread from its intended purpose. Tangents and temporary deviations are fine, and you’ll often see people contributing to threads who preface their comments by typing [hijack] and closing them by typing [/hijack]. They are acknowledging that their comments aren’t strictly on-topic but may bear some relationship or be of some interest.

Which is why the aforementioned openly gay state legislator made his comments about making sure that she complied with all relevant statutes including those banning sex- and sexual orientation-based discrimination in public accomodation, both of which are illegal in Nevada.

Which raises a question: are women customers allowed at the legal female brothels?

I apologize if someone’s already commented on this, but really. I’ve been in the area often at that time of night (our favorite movie theater is right there), and a lot of them really are just women who like to be seen in short skirts.

A friend suggested it, and since I don’t have any moral problems with legalized prostitution, and I wasn’t getting laid on my own, I figured why not. I decided, though, I didn’t want to do it just to do it, the girl would have to be smoking hot - hotter than I could get on my own. And she was.

I enjoyed the sex a lot, as she was completely different from any girlfriend I’d ever had. Asian, petite, strikingly beautiful. Girlfriends in the past have always been just Ok in the looks dept, and I wanted to have a chance to have sex with a fantasy.

I like going back to the same girl so I didn’t have to negotiate the price (which I hate even in everyday life, not just this). Also you get to know what you can and can’t do, and what they’ll do may increase as you become a repeat customer. I’ve been with a few different girls, but it’s not as good (too me) as going back to the same girl. For awhile I was going maybe every other month, but since she left I haven’t been back very often.

What you pay is really all over the place, depending on the girl, you, where you are and what you want. Sherri’s is one of the nicer legal brothels in Nevada, plus being close to Vegas they get a lot of high rollers. My understanding is you can get a better deal at the brothels near Reno. I guess a good ballpark is around $400-$500 for straight sex.

I was talking about between Western and Normandie. Which theater do you mean? There really isn’t any reason to be standing around on the street there at that time, unless you’re waiting for a bus.

In no particular order, as I’m remembering them:

  1. some guy I met on AOL, this would’ve been around 1995 or 96. We were chatting a bit and I was about to sign off when he said something about a blow job. I jokingly asked how much and he quoted me a price of $50. I determined that he was serious and, since I’d just gotten some money for my birthday and it had been a while, I figured why not. Overall I was not particularly pleased. No kissing, no reciprocation and he very clearly was not into it. Never saw him again.

  2. Chatting on gay.com IIRC, would’ve been around 2000. Some guy whose screen name identified himself as an escort had a quote in his profile to the effect of “ask me for my X-rated pics” so I did. He was hot and, as it was around my birthday again, I set up an appointment. I don’t remember what I paid him the first time but each subsequent time was $300 for two hours. The sex was very good and although he was a total top he was affectionate and allowed kissing. I enjoyed myself and I saw him every few months over the next few years. He had appeared in a few pornos and I found a couple of them cheap and he seemed genuinely pleased that I’d sought them out. He was rather perfunctory, sort of dropping his clothes and flopping on the bed and, after some length of time, declaring that I’d had enough. He went on to pose in Playgirl and moved to Chicago, where he listed himself for a while on rentboy (dot) com.

  7. A guy who advertised nude erotic rubdowns, $50 for 1/2 hour and $75 for a full hour. The first time I went he offered full-on sex but I wasn’t in the mood for it. The next couple of times he didn’t offer to go all the way but let me suck him but after that he would only do the rubdowns. I liked it well enough but got kind of irked at the diminishing returns. He left town. Answering for over here (even though the brothels are not legal). Yes, they are, and there are some Western ladies who patronize them. People always think of male customers when it comes to prostitution over here, but there is a small but not insignificant proportion of ladies seeking the girls out. Couples, too. I was in Long Gun Bar in Soi Cowboy last week – a bar, not a brothel – and a Western lady was having a good time indeed choosing a girl to go home with her that night. (No, the girls are not forced into lesbian encounters; more than a few of them are bi or lesbian. The mamasan will always know which ones.)

Is it true that there are extremely high-class and exclusive gay clubs where young men catheterize themselves and fill their bladders with wine, and later piss it into the mouths of the male patrons at the club?
