Certainly.
Although we live in New Jersey, my wife and I have been to the Christiana Mall a number of times. We also had a transient slip at Summit North Marina for two nights in Bear Delaware.
What’s the impetus for this thread, if I may ask?

An added bonus: after 5pm every day, free beer and wine in the kitchen all night. (Well, I guess it’s not really “free” because surely the cost is worked into the room rate, but a nice thing nonetheless. A hell of a lot better than paying outrageous prices per drink at a hotel bar, that’s for sure.) Really liked that place. I definitely plan on staying there again.
I paid a short visit to Prime Hook NWR (looking for horseshoe crabs–didn’t see any), and I spent the night at the Holiday Inn Express in Dover.
Me.
There’s a thread about what constitutes having visited a place. I was unsure of my status with Delaware, as a peed there but didn’t have a meal, which are my criteria for a visit. A bunch of other people chimed in about the First State, and I suggested someone start a poll solely about that. NoClueBoy stepped up to the plate almost immediately.
I stopped for dinner one night long ago in Hagerstown, which I remembered as being in Delaware but which turned out to be in Maryland. :smack:
Wow, it just keeps getting better and better. Maybe I should just move there.
Anyone go there just to establish corporate headquarters? Or would you even need to go there??
Caught a Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball game a few years back. Fun little ballpark.
When I was 20 or so I drove from a summer vacation in VA Beach to New England, passing through DE, but I don’t recall with any certainty whether we stopped there or not. I don’t think we did. I should have anticipated this thread!!
It doesn’t exist; stop trying to pretend it does!
I live in NJ and have driven through there many times. Mostly just driving and not stopping. But I have taken the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. In my younger days I visited and stayed over with a friend at the University of Delaware. I’m sure I stopped for gas or food other times.
Nope…way too far out of reach even for my big feet.
Delaware’s beaches are a big summer draw for people here in DC.
You can custom-title yourself “The First Doper.”
I not only stepped on Delaware, I jumped on Delaware. In the mid-90s, when I was actively trying to skydive in as many states as I could, I made a jump at the Laurel DE airport.
I LOVE Delaware.
I have spent much time in Dover (well, Smyrna…well, Clayton…well, actually Kenton…) and Love Love Love Rehoboth.
-sigh-
i would move there if i could…
Been there many time-driving to and from Florida.
The state is one big yawn-doesn’t differ much from the others sharing the Delmarva Peninsula. There’s a mini golf lot in Ocean City that features a howling gorilla.
And I’ve never seen the “coal mines” that Joe Biden’s grandpa (allegedly) labored in.
I did*. It made a small squeaking sound.
*did not actually.
Ever take the Bridge-Tunnel? It is amazing.
Used to go to Dewey Beach most every weekend for a few summers
1st state outside MD I rode my motorcycle in
This is where I have been
Born and raised here (born in Wilmington, but have only lived in Christiana and Newark, although I’ve been all over the state; just got back from Dover this afternoon); lived away for a few years (for grad school and a bit after that). Been back here since 2004 and teach at the university (which I also attended).
