My namesakes are a very distinguished author on gay politics and a moderately retarded actor who has played two roles. Fortunately, my personal hits fill the first two search pages most of the time.

There are a few mention of me, but no actual entry for me or anyone with my name.

My name is sufficiently uncommon as to produce no notable namesakes. I believe that, notable or not, I am the only one of my full name in the US. I think there are a handful in Germany, but none notable.

My birth name, first and last, is so common as to bring up 35 hits for my name (none, so far as I know, related to me), and 2 disambig pages. My namesakes are notable primarily in the military, politics, and entertainment.

My chosen name is sufficiently uncommon as to produce no actual hits, but there are 2 pages that mention people by that name - one for a fictional character, the other a Scottish historical figure (my namesake is a friend and the spouse, respectively).

Are we talking first names or last or both?

I always thought I was the only person with my unique combination of first and last name anywhere in the world, but there is a South African tourism site that lists it as a contact. I am tempted to write to them and ask about my namesake.

Don’t have to really search for it. My name is in the article title. One of my research results.

FtGKid2 was doing a vanity search on Wikipedia and came across it. He didn’t know that I had done something so “worthy”. Surprisingly impressed.

Me, I have no interest in others with the same last name. In our family it only goes back 2 generations, with a stable spelling going back 1. So no vanity searching for me.

Obviously it doesn’t take any time at all to figure out your real name. You might want to be careful sharing this with us.

I’ve been thinking it might be more fun (and more risky) to have everyone else guess your name.

I built a Wikipedia page for a doctor friend. He has had a long, distinguished and downright heroic career in emergency medicine, and the only other person in Wikipedia with his name was a Nazi officer. It was the least I could do to provide some balance.

Go for it.

Nothing for me, thank goodness, but my husband’s name is there.

I’ve Googlism’d my name.

Apparently, I’m:

  • executive director of indeco
  • a delphi programmer by trade and lives in birmingham
  • president of the royal college of surgeons of england
  • an acknowledged industry
  • a familiar face in oxford’s hairdressing scene
  • a recognised leader in the construction industry and project management field
  • nuffield professor of surgery emeritus
  • known for his cool and calm driving style
  • the former federal transport minister
  • a certified practising accountant qualified in australia and a fellow of the taxation institute of australia
  • acknowledged as one of the finest
  • the communication officer for ice camp sirius
  • the medical director of wake county human services
  • correct
  • currently national
  • it
  • such a hot guy

Among other things.

In the first two pages of Google Search I am:

  1. Attorney at Law
  2. Guitar Musician
  3. Endocrinologist
  4. Director of Digital Asset Management
  5. Deposition Reporting Services
  6. National Mystery Series Examiner
  7. Realtor
  8. African-American Poet
  9. Professor of Ancient Greece

Under my maiden name, I am:

  1. A Sanctuary in SW Edmonton
  2. An Adolescent medicine and Pharmacotherapy Specialist
  3. A descendent of the peerage
  4. A 1981 graduate of Northern Collegiate High School
  5. A breast cancer victim in Surrey
  6. A second-hand bookseller
  7. A real marriage for me
  8. Lots of people searching my surname

There is nobody with my name listed in Wikipedia. In fact, I seem to be the only person with my name in the U.S. To go further, I think it is likely that I am the only person with my name in the whole world, though I can’t prove it.

Googlism doesn’t know who I am.

My first name + last name is globally unique (aside from my late father and grandfather, who had different middle names). At least the first 10 pages of Google hits are me.

My first plus last name (married or maiden name) comes up with nothing on wiki, my just last maiden name comes up with 4 Swedish people, and my last married name comes up with 500 pages because it’s a noun, LOL.

There’s nobody with my name (combination of first + last) on Wikipedia. In googling myself, I’ve found a resume for a kid out of grad school (years and years ago; I’m sure he’s well into his career right now); a psychopath who assaulted his roommate for pretty psychotic reasons; and several hits regarding a certain athlete and his sports record.
