Have You Ever...?

The premise of this game is simple. If you can do something that the previous post suggests, post it, with an explanation as necessary. Then you post another “have you ever…?” suggestion.

Example:

Q: Have you ever… gone to a theme park?

A&Q: Yes, I was at Disney World in 1989. Have you ever… driven a Chevy pickup truck?

A&Q: Yes, I owned a Chevy pickup back in the 90s. Have you ever… [something]?

All answers should be “yes,” followed by the next question. Let’s try to avoid game-killers, such as, “Have you ever walked on the Moon?” and keep it to normal things that everyday people might have done.

To start: Have you ever owned a pet?

Yes, I have owned a pet…Have you never served in the military…

No, I was drafted but flunked my physical, way back in 1972.

Have you ever read one book more than three times?

Yes, I read Rum Punch every year on my first day of beach vacation. (Tenth time last week)

Have you ever rafted whitewater?

Yes, French Broad and Nantahala in Western NC.

Have you ever dyed your hair?

Not I, but Madame P. insists that blue is her natural hair color.

Have you ever not voted in a presidential election when you were legally able to?

Yes, I didn’t vote the year Jimmy Carter won. I was lazy. Did you ever climb a tree and fall to the ground?

Oh boy, did I ever. I I accidentally fell out of the tree and knocked the wind out of myself. I was about 12 or 13 at the time.

Have you ever met a celebrity?

Yes, my brother introduced me to his friend Mike (that guy from Beetlejuice). Have you ever ridden a horse?

Yes, I was taught riding at a young age, my father thought it was something a gentleman should know, hated it. Have you ever fired an artillery piece?

To move this along, no I havent. But I asked a friend who was an artillery commander with the Marines in the first Iraq War if I could speak for him.

He said yes, and added that St Barbara is the patron of artillery soldiers.
Have you ever met a past, present or future U.S. President?

Yes, I have met Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford.
Have you ever used a vinyl album cover to clean weed?

Yes, late 70s. Years before I ever smoked the stuff.

Have you ever created something with your own hands that sold for over $100? (i.e., art, furniture, musical instrument, etc)

Yes, I painted a mascot on the new gym floor for the local highschool. I got a check for $435.00 for that baby ( yea, I painted it!!). I have painted murals for buildings in the little town I live near. I never got paid, but they brought us nice lunches and drinks. It was well over $100 bucks worth.
Have you ever had to work while on scaffolding?

Yes, I used to paint theatrical scenery. Lots of time on scaffolding.
Have you ever built a computer?

Yes, back in 1994. As I recall it was computing monster possessing no less than 4 mb RAM, a 400 megabyte hard drive, 33 MHz processor, 14" monitor and a 14.4 modem

Have you ever held season tickets for a professional sports team?

No, but my parents are longtime Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holders.

Have you ever been to a pro sports event that was immediately followed by fireworks?

Yes- in 1974 or 1975, the Yankees were playing at Shea Stadium while Yankee Stadium was repaired. Between games of a twi-night double-header, they set off fireworks. Then the Sons of Italy fired a cannon, and set the outfield wall on fire!
Have you ever appeared on stage in front of at least 1,000 people?

Routinely in front of audiences in the 400 range, but never 1,000…unless you count my high school graduation ceremony.
Have you ever been bit by a snake?

Yes I have, several times. I was a theatre major as an undergrad, and remain active in community theatre, independent film, and occasional commercials.

Have you ever taken part in a flash mob?
