No, but I know enough about shingles to successfully “diagnose” a friend last month–she was complaining about symptoms but didn’t know what they meant. I’m not a health care professional, but hubby had it when he was young, shortly before the anti-virals were introduced, and has had post-herpetic neuralgia on and off for many years.
Maybe. I cannot remember for sure. I have been to the top of Astor’s Column, which is taller than a lighthouse (a lot of steps), kind of shaped like one, and the ocean is visible across the Columbia bar.
Have you ever actually seen a nuclear reactor core in operation?
Outside of grade school, once. But it was at the home of the Cleveland Symphony, and the entire crowd (several thousand) were divided by vocal range, given books, and we sang the entirety of Handels’ “Messiah”.
Have you ever attended a Pro Wrestling event in person?
I took my son to see wrestling when he was 6 or so and into it. I was embarrassed about going, then we got there and saw that the overwhelming number of attendees were adults without kids!
Not deliberately, but twice hubby and I have accidentally walked out of supermarkets with big loads of groceries and without having paid for a small bagful of fruit that was overlooked in the seat area of the shopping cart. The first time was in Walmart in Mexico (where BTW the bakeries are excellent, far superior to the bakeries in American Walmarts) and the second time was in Canada. We joke that we’ve unintentionally become international fruit thieves.
Have you ever built a snowman? (they seem to be less common these past years)
Yes, not pleasant. I am agoraphobic to some degree. If I can’t see an exit I panic. The last time was at a meeting for parents at a school and the exit was blocked because people didn’t come all the way in and find seats. I just had to leave or freak out. I got out and got to my car.
Heck, I’m involved in the local pro wrestling promotion (though not as a wrestler). And kayaker is correct when he says that it has plenty of fans who are adults without kids.
Tornado? No, but I have weathered a microburst, which might as well be the same thing. I had to pull over my car, and hope that it and I didn’t get blown away.
Have you ever driven through a red light?
I rode through a red light on my bicycle because it was clear all ways and was not going to change for me (often the sensors in the road will pick up a bicycle, but this light may have been using some kind of crappy optical sensors). Got a ticket for it, too.
Of course. I spent many happy days in my youth playing in the Maryland and Delaware surf. And as long as you count the Gulf of Mexico as “ocean”, I still do it regularly. You can’t go surf fishing all day without some relief.
I have not. And probably never will. It’s one of those things where I can appreciate the skill and artistry, but have no interest.
Have you ever had sex on a beach?
In a lake, once. Not much of a beach, more like a muddy bank. Quite fun, in the mud and the muck.
BTW, I have seen and danced in many ballets, not lately though.
Have you ever been on a zipline?
