One of the researchers here at the base is named Dan Brown. He plans on eventually writing some stupid book like The Michaelangelo Code* and making wheelbarrows full of money before they find him out.
I’m sure I must have encountered a John Smith at some point.
There’s a pawn broker in Overland, MO, named Mike Piazza.
My voice teacher is John Stewart, although he (the voice teacher) is semi-famous in his own right (in the right circles).
My wife taught with a Robert Shaw (he went by Bob).
My neighbor is Jim McMahon. They have a dog named Ed. Donna Caron (spelled differently but still sounds like Karan) owns a local restaurant. Steve Miller is my insurance guy.
I don’t know why but this thread cracks me up. Picturing all these “famous” people doing mundane things like being 5th grade girlfriends and people’s bosses is hilarious
Best I got is that I went to school with an African-American girl who’s dad’s name is David Crosby.
Elizabeth Taylor used to do my hair.
In between weddings and divorces, that is.
My cousin and I share the same name. (It’s really weird writing letters: Dear Anaamika. Love, Anaamika.) Both the full versions and the dimunitives are names of famous Indian actresses.
I used to work with a Meg Ryan. Lieutenant Commander Meg Ryan, in fact.
Could my cousin, Matthew Perry, be any more annoyed when people talk to him like this?
I had a co-worker named Ian Fleming. He was born just before the Bond books were published.
I went to elementary school with a Richard Gear. At least, that was how he spelled it.
We all knew better.
I’ve roomed with James Taylor and Joseph Cotton (though he went by “Joe”).
My kids are Dweezil and Moon Unit, but just on the boards …
I didn’t know him but when at my high school graduation, one of the names they called was Robert Downey, Jr. It got a little titter.
I can honestly say I’ve toured with Tom Jones. (Insert ‘It’s Not Unusual’ joke here.)
My undergrad physics professor was Doctor Hu.
Oh, yeah…and George Jones has an office next door to me.
Worked with a gentleman years ago by the name of Michael Jackson. (Yes, also one of many, looks like…) He had a middle initial and made sure he used it every time he signed his name.
I also knew a girl in college by the name of Lisa Simpson. She was quite accustomed to the obligatory Simpsons references.
Knew a lady by the name of Donna Mills, and met at a conference one time a very nice older woman by the name of Joan Collins.
I knew a girl with the last name of Poe.
In my 8th grade homeroom there was a Laura Bush. Her mother’s boyfriend was named Glenn Miller.
About 8 years ago, I was checking over an invoice to our company for IT contractors who were doing some work for us. Each line item just had a contract number and a surname for identification. Imagine my surprise when I found out Mulder and Scully were doing programming in our shop.
Boy, a lot of you know Michael Jackson, but I knew his older sister Latoya, we worked at a movie theater together. (I didn’t make that connection until after I had known her for quite a while, even though I knew who Latoya Jackson was)
