Have you known anyone with a famous name?

I once dated a Jill Taylor (Home Improvement), and my own name would be recognizable to NBA fans in the Philly area.

I bought a refrigerator from Thomas Wolfe.
I know a couple of Jim Davises, and the cartoonist himself lives about 30 miles from here.
My wife was in a sorority with Betsy Ross, who, born with a famous name, went on to be an on-air personality on ESPN.
I pledged a fraternity where one of the brothers was Tom Collins.

Worked with a tall British gentleman named James Bond.

He had a broad forehead and graying temples. He didn’t look like Sean Connery, exactly; but if you saw him, you’d know why people hesitated when adding “exactly”…he sort of brought Sean Connery to mind, as it were.

He asked to be called Jim, for obvious reasons. We never, ever teased him about it; but sometimes after he was gone, one or the other of us would hum the 007 theme under our breath.

I lived next door to a Steve Miller when I was a little kid. (He even played guitar!)
My dad used to work with a guy named Tom Sawyer.
I have worked with Michael Jordan, John Spencer, and a guy who’s last name is Batman.

I went to college with Jim Morrison, he told us that he had never heard of The Jim Morrison, didn’t even believe that there was a famous person with his name. Sounds unbelievable, but if you met him you would know he wasn’t lying.

My high school librarian was Betty Davis (spelled differently that the actress). I lived with Elizabeth Taylor in college, though she was called Libby, and also met her older brother James Taylor.

There was a Ronald McDonald here who got charged with doing bad things to kids several years ago.

If we’re to believe some of the conspiracy-minded folks, so is the famous one.

So as not to completely hijack the thread, i once met Robin Williams (female).

I’m a guitarist who’s performed with James Taylor (a nice old guy who called squaredances). I taught Carol King, and gave Jeff Beck his first guitar lesson (we shared an apartment, and when he told me his name, I asked if I could give him a guitar lesson, just so I could tell people about it). And I went to college with Robert Johnson, a fellow engineer whose geeky whiteness would have prevented him from becoming a famous bluesman.

I have the same thought every time I have a conference call with my coworker, Carmine Miranda.

I also worked for a Steve Miller, one of the personality-deficient bureaucrats I’ve ever known.

And in college, there was a guy in a math class I taught named Roger Moore (when I graded his first quiz, on which he got 7 out of 10, I had to write it ‘007’).

Back when the Colts were in Baltimore, they had a quarterback named Bert Jones. At that same time, I worked for a little radio station here in my hometown (not the one I work for now) and the station manager’s name was Bert Jones. He hated football.

Can’t believe I forgot this one until I saw the file just now: we’re currently representing Jerry Garcia on some family law matters.

I’ve repaired motorcycles belonging to Will Nelson(no, we don’t call him Willie) and Ann Richards (former gov. of Texas - not).

Googled my name once and found out I share names with a serial killer  ! Real twisted bastard too.
It wasn’t me, I swear!

You’re Albert Fish, aren’t you?

I once worked with a Steve Miller and a Rob Roy, and currently work with a Molly Brown. I also was somewhat aquainted with a Charlie Brown, though I didn’t really know him that well.

I know Tom Riddle. He doesn’t seem all that evil, though.

I also used to know a Michael Jackson.

I know a Paul Daniels (the celeb of that name is an irritating UK magician)

Oh, and a Keith Richards.

For those that know an Elizabeth Taylor, I use to work with Richard Burton. I went through Navy boot camp with Tom Landry. He didn’t know much about football though.
