Having trouble with Opera browser

The World’s Fastest Browser has been working really slow for me lately. Pages that normally load instantly in other browsers are taking a minute or more in Opera, and the really annoying thing is that the whole browser, more often than not, freezes during that time period. It’s really negating (and then some) the whole tabbed-browsing advantage.

The funny thing is that this has happened to me before, with an earlier version of Opera and on a different computer, but I don’t remember what was wrong or how I fixed it. I think I just upgraded, but I’m pretty sure I have the newest version right now (7.54.)

P.S. Please don’t tell me to switch to Firefox (or any other browser for that matter.) I know it’s better than Jesus, it slices, it dices, it balances the federal budget and cures cancer, but I don’t like it. I hope this isn’t too snarky for GQ but if you’re going to come in here just to tell me to switch browsers, please don’t bother posting.

I’ve not had that problem with Opera, but what you might try, is seeing if your cache is clearing. The other things that I would try is rebooting your box to see if that fixes the problem (probably won’t, and you’ve probably already done that, but I’ll throw it out there anyway), and posting your question at the Opera forums, since they’re the experts. You have to register, but don’t worry, you won’t get any spam from them. (I’m registered there, and I get zero spam.) You could always do an uninstall/reinstall to see if that corrects the problem.
