Opera and cookies (or lack thereof)

I’m trying really hard to keep this out of the Pit.

I still have an unpaid version (6.05) on my computer, and I’m about to go back to it if my paid version of 7.23 doesn’t straighten up.

I have an old and crappy computer (ME, Pentium I, 256MB RAM, can’t remember how many GHz) which locks up more often than I’d like. I can live with that. With the old version of Opera it would lock up, I’d reboot, I’d pick ‘show last version’ or whatever, and each and every page I’d been on when my computer crapped out would pop up.

The new version? Not so much. If I’m here on the SDMB and I open 20 pages, NONE of them reappear. Ditto with LJ, the UnaBoard and, more likely than not, any links I’ve clicked FROM those pages.

I can’t even send a message to their tech support because clicking the ‘submit’ button doesn’t actually SUBMIT anything!

Tonight was the last straw, when clicking ‘submit’ on my measurement page told me to get bent.

I know this is incredibly vague, but does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Try a different browser? Firefox?

Alternatively, get a better computer than you’re using at the minure on ebay - I got a P2 setup to mess abotu with for £30.

You might want to try version 7.51, since it’s been out for a while now

I am not having any of those problems with my Opera 7.23. Although it did stop sending emails recently forcing me to use Outlook.

I had a similar problem with 7.23. Browser windows that required a login would just turn up as blank when I restarted Opera.

Upgrade to the current release of 7.51, available for download from www.opera.com . Your registration should remain valid.

Woohoo! It wasn’t just me!

I didn’t realize the new version was out…I’m downloading as I type. Thanks.
