Their mother was almost certainly a contributing factor to both her kids’ issues

Always blame the Mother.

Unless her Mother gave her the drugs I can’t see her fault(with brother as well).

Yes parents affect their children, this is known. But a parents, unless they’re sociopathic, don’t want their kids dead or hurt.

Bad things happen to good people.

(I know nothing about her Mother and her relationship, I just mean in general)

I’m more concerned about Hayden’s 11 year old daughter. I hope she has a good support system.

Directly, no. But Hayden was long estranged from her mother, who was her manager when she was a child actor, and it appears that she was a classic, controlling “stage mother.” She very likely contributed to her children’s emotional issues, and possibly their substance abuse issues.

There are mentions of her issues with her mother in this very thread, and a excellent and disturbing article about their relationship linked above in post 21. Maybe you could have read those before deciding her mother had to be blameless?

Even horrible parents generally grieve their kids. If she is part of the cause her kids turned to drugs, she probably feels even worse about it. I feel bad for the parents, too.

The giant has full custody of their daughter.

From what I gather from reports after her death, she and Klitschko were in good standing. He also posted a moving remembrance of her.

Especially if she doesn’t admit it to herself. She may not feel worse now, but one day she will. You can’t hide those things from yourself forever.

p.s. did you mean “horrible” there? Or maybe “non-horrible?” This way doesn’t seem to make sense.

Her Dad on Heroes was the Horn-Rimmed Glasses guy and the actor(Jack Coleman) posted a very nice statement.

I did mean horrible. Even bad parents usually care about their kids. Even abusive parents grieve an untimely death of their children. I’m sure there’s some tiny number of parents who truly hate their kids, or are totally indifferent, who wouldn’t care if their child died. But i think that’s a much much smaller number than the number who are bad parents.

If her mother was abusive, yes, blame her!
Last night, I saw that Hayden’s autobiography was #1 on Amazon.

I just finished bingeing “30 Rock” and I was shocked by a scene where the character of Jenna gleefully asks if Hayden Panettiere is dead. Bad timing!

Sorry, I misunderstood the use of the word “grieve.” I took it to mean “give grief to” and you meant the more common “grieve for.”

I did.

What episode?

Season 7, Episode 8: “My Whole Life Is Thunder”

Oh, Liz, you had me at “Hayden Panettiere is dead.”

I read that.

But do we really “know”?

I don’t profess to.

It’s a troubling situation any way you look at it.

I was watching something this week and they said “Save the cheerleader, save the world” and it was like a gut punch. Such unfortunate timing.
