I thought the party episode was one of the best of the show so far. All the stories were good and the way they completely flipped Adam’s characterization was amazing.
True. It looks like Hannah was the one who was too self-absorbed to get close to him. But he’s still gross.
I’m much older than the characters, but some stuff still rings true since I’m single. This is the only show right now that makes me excited when new episodes come out. Lena Dunham’s character bugs me a bit (her horrible clothes, figure, and fashion sense), but on the whole, I love the show. The other actors are great. I never really buy into a good-looking guy like Adam falling for someone like Hanna (not pretty/not a great personality).
Shit, I don’t want to admit this, but that’s also had me a bit puzzled.
Adam is a good-looking guy? Coulda fooled me.
The cracked up virgin had me crying with laughter.
And I guess that’s where it breaks down for me. I’m terrible at figuring out who of my sex (beyond the obvious) is good-looking or not. What about the pharmacy guy? He seemed good-looking to me.
I thought the pharmacy guy was going to take her to an ‘ugliest date’ party. Yeah, he was very good looking.
I find Hannah plenty attractive. I like her better than Jessa, anyway. Her personality is a trainwreck though.
That was hilarious. My favorite part was how she randomly lost her pants and no one said a word about it.
That sounds like a fair assessment to me.
Yeah, the pharmacy guy was good-looking too. I’d like to see Hannah with a plain guy sometime. Someone more on her level of hotness. But since she’s the writer/creator of the show, I doubt that’ll happen.
I’d say she and Adam are on the same level of attractiveness. He’s just in better shape, but he’s a doofy-looking dude.
Also known as a “dog fight,” according to a movie I once saw.
I agree she’s on same level with this guy and I guess I’m alone but I thought the pharmacist was quite unattractive.
I’m hanging in there for one full season because I know HBO shows can sometimes take a bit to find their footing, but so far I’m really not very impressed with it. There are a few interesting points, but for the most part I don’t think it’s for me. Still, hanging in.
OK, I really give up now. If pharmacy guy was “quite unattractive” then I really have no fucking clue what is considered attractive to women. That’s okay, as I’m married, but I really didn’t think I was THAT bad at this.
Give up? Honestly, why would you expect anyone (men or women) as a group to find one person attractive or unattractive? That’s odd to me. We all have different tastes, preferences, and turn offs. This is news?
No shit, girl. I’m just surprised at somebody like that being characterized as “quite unattractive.” To me, it sounds like the whole Internet meme of characterizing a conventionally beautiful woman as having “sharp knees.”
Really, boy? I’m sorry to disappoint but I really didn’t think he was attractive. As in, if he asked me out I would definitely say no.
(is there a reason you seem so angry about this?)
I’m not angry at all. I’m just a bit (genuinely) perplexed at my own inability to figure out what is generally considered sexually attractive to the opposite sex. I don’t mean any sort of offense.
It was so boring I couldn’t even finish epi one.
