As a dude, i’ve never passed up the opportunity to check out a naked lady…until Girls came along.
To Lena Dunham: I’m thrilled that you’re comfortable with your body. A fact that you made crystal clear to the world throughout season 1 but, for god’s sake, can you please spare us the redundancy of this eye-scorching, nightmare-worthy, puke-in-my mouth imagery? Please, i beg you, stop the profanity insanity…and maybe give us a little more gratuitous sex scenes with say…marnie (or any other female character for that matter)!
I know, i know - then why do i watch this mediocre-at-best HBO series when there’s 801 other channels to surf? 1. i don’t watch religiously (but somehow every episode i’ve seen features at least one hannah hamhock horror scene) 2. there’s usually something on after it that i want to watch and don’t wanna miss it while surfing and 3. my wife sorta likes it.
Nudity is always good, even if it doesn’t turn me on. Asking to see “more attractive” people is exactly contrary to the point Dunham is making. We’re human. This is what we look like. It doesn’t have to turn you on, but you shouldn’t demand I cover my own body.
I watched it long enough to wonder if I woke up in a different reality. How is this even remotely entertaining on any level. How bad is someone’s life that this is worth sitting still and watching.
How did someone pitch this to a group of people in charge of development money? What could possibly be worse that this beat it out? I would rather watch a web cam strapped to the back of a boat at dock.
