IT DOESN’T END!!!
Dude left such a huge imprint on the movie experience of a couple generations of people. The loss of his presence will be felt tremendously.

Harold Ramis has died.
And of course I didn’t see the other thread. Could a mod please close this?
Egon is e-gone.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen five threads about one celebrity death. I have so much more empathy for Phil Connors.
Sorry, I crossed the streams and it was very, very bad.
It’s only fitting to have five threads about Ramis’s death, as he did direct Groundhog Day.
Well… “Harold, meet Lynn. Lynn, you surely know Harold.”
Damn. A few days back we had a thread about what celebrity death would effect you most. I don’t know that Ramis is it, but I do feel a loss at his passing. I’ve enjoyed him since SCTV, and loved the movies he wrote/directed/starred in.
No hope of Ghostbusters 3 now. It probably would have sucked, but we’ll never know.

This is the saddest news I’ve heard all year.
Bienville, are you a Farker? That’s the headline they used to announce his death.
Aw, so sad. Damn death, I hate it!
Too young. We could have had more great work from him.
And awful that he had to suffer the vasculitis for the past four years (according to reports). When someone gives so much pleasure to so many, it seems particularly unjust that they have to deal with pain and disease.
I hope his family is comforted by the knowledge that Ramis lengthened other people’s lives (literally) by giving us so many laughs.
Can’t believe no one has mentioned his co-writing credit for Animal House. One of the best comedies of all time.
He was pretty damn funny in Best in Show too, IIRC.
I can’t imagine my high school years and even college without Harold Ramis. He was involved in writing and performing in so many of my favorite comedies. I watched SCTV every week. Saw all his early movies many, many times. I have several on DVD.
I can’t pick a favorite. They are all very good.
I’ll miss Ramis’ work and humor.
R.I.P.

He also directed Groundhog Day.
His brand of humor was both subtle and gross at the same time. He could get you with a well turned phrase, a farcical turn of events, a simple pratfall written in, a smirky glance, or an over the top fart-type joke. Humor for everyone or for all the laughs in each one of us.
If only Beatrice Arthur had died yesterday.
Then we’d be mourning Harold and Maude.
R.I.P. Mr. Ramis. You had a light touch with comedy, which is never pretty.
