I wish gobear was straight. And that I wasn’t monogamous.
(I just think he’s so darn CUTE!)

There’s only thing that’s needed to be asked of Henry Rollins about his sexuality: Would he willing to be gay-for-pay?
Well, that’s what the rumors say, but I have a hard time believing it.
Personally, I’m working to start rumors that Kenny Chesney is gay, but I’m not quite sure how to go about it. (Mostly wishful thinking on my part, though. )
JOhn.
I wasn’t surprised to find out Ian McKellan was gay as he was in fact touching my ass when I met him. C’mon people the guy is as camp as a row of pink tents!
(just had to throw that in as it is pretty much my coolest claim to fame)
I told you, I have nothing concrete that I can offer; I do not really expect to convince that it’s a fact; I only mean to convince you that I am 100% convinced. Take that for what it’s worth.
But the person who told me is a professional music journalist who’s know Rollins on and off from the beginning, and even spent some time on the road with Black Flag. I’ve known this guy for a long time and I consider him to be an honest, levelheaded person. And unless lying to me, which as I say I’m convinced he’s not but I can’t prove this to you in any way–unless he’s lying to me, he knows from personal firsthand experience that Rollins is gay. From the stories he’s told me, I have no doubt that he’s at least bi, but this guy who knows him (who is also, for the record, gay) says Rollins is gay.
Shoot, lucky bastard! Wish I had personal firsthand evidence.
Sorry; wasn’t that kind of personal firsthand experience. Just firstperson eyewitnessy kinda stuff.
His name wouldn’t be Lyle, would it?
Just goes to show, you never can tell…
Is he Catholic? or Mormon? seen it a thousand times.
As far as actors who were definitely gay, the ones who seem to really shock people are Grandma & Grandpa Walton (Ellen Corby & Will Geer), both of whom were fairly open and made no secrets and no spectacle of their orientations. Geer was married at one point and had two children but lived a rather bohemian lifestyle and very interesting old dude: well educated (A.B.D… in Botany), passionately involved in the preservation of folk music, refused to lie about having once been a Communist which resulted in his blacklisting, founded an outdoor theater with and for other blacklisted artists that is still in existence (now run by his daughter Ellen, most famous for her role as Sunshine Dore in Harold & Maude, and could quote whole Shakespeare plays from memory.
Then there was the cast of Bewitched, which included more flaming witches than the 16th century: Maurice Evans, Paul Lynde, Agnes Moorehead and Dick Sargent were all gay. Vivian Vance of I Love Lucy apparently wasn’t gay, but two of her husbands were. (Gays need their own song ala Adam Sandler’s “Channukah Song”.)
As far as rumors of who is and isn’t gay, I’ve never heard rumors about Fred McMurray. That’s about it.
As far as hypocrisy, my main irritation is with Richard Chamberlain, who flat out lied about being gay as recently as the late 1990s and still attended functions with much younger beards, then came out in his 2003 autobiography. Why his lover put up with this I’ve no idea (unless it’s the fact that he’s one of the richest men in show business).
Sometimes I wonder about a celebrity, but never really even file it away in my mind: it’s not really important to me. For instance, I have wondered about Anderson Cooper, but twasn’t something I remembered till reading this thread.
That said, there was one exception: Danny Elfman. If I was ever nearly sure that someone IS gay, it would be him. I was surprised to find that he was married (not that that is proof) I’ve never had such a suspicion about anyone else IRL or celebrity (nor do I care*), and I’m not really sure why.
*unless of course, it’s a girl I fancy. Lesbianism would be obviously a detriment.
That’s weird, almost everything I’ve read about them (mostly last year when their recent album came out) was pretty clear on it. Yes, they are gay. But they don’t make a big deal out of it, and neither do the articles, generally. It was along the lines of "We told our parents, ‘Hey, I’ve met someone. And I really like her’ ", and the parents didn’t bat an eye, as they were cool laid-back open-minded Canadian parents, with folk singer daughters.
Spurious George (Lovin’ some Tegan and Sara music, and havin’ those awful, dirty fantasies too.)
The straight guy I’d have bet a kidney was gay is Tony Randall. I knew that he was married for many many years (he married at 18 to a woman who died when he was in his early 70s) then became more famous than ever for marrying a woman who wasn’t even born when he first played Felix Unger and fathering two children when he was at a biblical age.
Isn’t it fascinating how fascinated people are with gay celebs? This thread is a day old, I started it as almost an aside that I didn’t really expect to go anywhere, and it’s had about 3230 views as of this writing. Eve’s thread on hybrid movies, which took off like gangbusters and has almost 400 posts so far, has had less than 3000 views as of this writing. True it doesn’t matter whether an actor is/n’t gay as far as their talent goes, but damned if it ain’t interestin’. (And Ricky Martin’s queerer than a three legged French speakin’ duck [or, to quote Terry Pratchett, gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide].)
My nephew is an independent movie producer, and at the rap party for a movie that came out and went straight to video about a year ago, a ton of celebs showed up for the usual free food and hugs. I’ll give you the name and you can run with it if you want. Keanu Reeves. I’ll quote my nephew…”Mr. Reeves did a lot of hugging and kissing with the ‘Y’ chromosome people, there wasn’t a woman near him all night” Un quote.
I was very surprised to read about Katherine Hepburn. Her affairs with men well known but there is a book coming out (or just came out) that lists all her conquests. Supposedly she had sex with just about every star from the 30’s and 40’s both male and female. This book might just be untrue trash, I don’t know. Can’t remember the name of the book just now.
Jewish, IIRC, but not particularly observant.
Gerbil. Richard Gere and the whole gerbil thing.
Snopes even had to clear the air about that one: http://www.snopes.com/risque/homosex/gerbil.htm
Of all the people I don’t want to have batting for my team, Keanu ranks pretty far up there. Of course it might explain why he never seems to have any chemistry with so-called female love interests, but I believe Occam’s Razor would just lump that in with his total inability to act in 90% of his roles.
So which of Keanu’s leading ladies do you think are not female?
This I am going to dispute. Dominic Monaghan is my cousin’s next door neighbor, and I think she would have mentioned that he lived with his boyfriend when she told me this. I think she is quite amused to have a hobbit for a neighbor, and she told me about their interactions (she’s British too, and works in the same field as his father, so they have stuff to talk about).
Not saying he’s not gay, just that I don’t think he has a live in boyfriend.
