Gotta fill up the gas tank, get a big thing of basmati rice and maybe have a cheap hot dog.
What do you get at your local warehouse store?

Can you bring this over by tomorrow? Thanks, I’ll wire the money over to you. It’ll be easy, I’ll wire over $1000 and you can just give me back the difference in cash…
Amazing deals there. We buy those Ribeye “sub primals” and cut our own steaks.
CostCo selling the AMC tickets enables our moviegoing lifestyle. Two for $15.99, as opposed to $11.50 for one at AMC’s River East 21.
Can you pick me up a four-pack of pianos? I’m almost out.
Back when we had a Costco membership, we bought a lot of meat and canned goods. (And yes, every so often, one of those big bottles of Makers Mark.)
Our local Costco has the coolest artisan lettuce pack. It is six different heads of lettuce. Since the lettuce is not yet torn into small pieces it will generally last until I use it up. Salad in a bag does not last more than a day or two.
Meat is good. The wine selection is good. The big bottles of Makers should last longer but don’t. The rack of lamb is really good for two people.
Foster farms chicken breasts
Tide
Some clothes for my baby
Juice
Eggs
Milk
French vanilla coffee cream

Frozen fish

Sushi (seriously - it’s awesome)
Diapers
Wipes
Brick of cheddar
Something to keep in the freezer or fridge for the inevitable night that I don’t feel like eating food I’ve cooked
And next time I go I need to remember to get some wine - they have some decent labels.
Tonight I bought:
2 bags of cat litter
Cascade
A puzzle
Earrings
A set of drinking glasses
Laundry detergent
Trash bags
Such a shame Maryland Costco cannot carry alcohol (so I hit up a very nice store across the street for that)
Has anyone else tried the frozen French onion soup that Costco carries?
I was sceptical (how good could frozen soup be, right?) but bought a pack, simply because it is all vegetarian, no beef stock, which is almost impossible to find in restaurants around here (I only know one place here in Salt Lake that makes a veggie onion soup) so I decided to give it a try.
It is absolutely delicious, one of the best soups I have ever had—For any of you that enjoy French onion soup, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I always goo to BJs instead… in the vain hope that they’ll live up to their name,
Best typo ever ever ever!!!
Frozen salmon, 20 lbs of basmati and one of those giant lemon coffee cakes, please.
In the Netherlands we have something called “Makro”; it is a big warehouse-like thing which sells only to owners of small shops. You must have some kind of business in order to be issued a special member’s card that allows you to shop there.
If you get a card, you can go there, and you can buy stuff at cost, really great price, and in bulk. Fantastic bargains, if you don’t mind lugging home a 100-pack of, oh, I dunno, toilet paper or something. You are then set for months, of course
I am amazingly fortunate in that I have a legitimate card to buy there (it’s a long story), which I jealously keep, and every month or every two months I go buy there in bulk. As a matter of fact, in 30 minutes or so I am going… They have excellent meat and vegetables; I can buy a big chunk of lamb or beef and freeze it at home.
Is Costco like that? Do you have to have a shop or some sort of retail business in order to be able to buy there?
Go to the steak section. Look over the packages and see if you see any that are in blue foam trays, rather than white foam. The blue foam trays denote prime grade steaks, and Costco has only recently begun carrying them. I read on Chowhound that it’s because places like Ruths Chris and Mortons Steakhouse haven’t been buying up all the prime beef because of the economy, so more is trickling down to retailers. If we’re flush, I’ll always pick up a tray of prime New Yorks or ribeyes.
So grab me a few eh? I’ll get the sauteed mushrooms in garlic sauce and the baked potatoes ready.
