Health Care Reform & Lieberman

lawful evil, to be specific.

Too big to fail?

The Green Goblin killed Gwen Stacy, Spider-man’s girlfriend.
The Hobgoblin killed Ned Leeds.

And The Knob Goblin is a video the Coen Brothers made as teenagers.

Thank you. I thought I was going to have to provide a link to Spidey Kicks Butt. ONly the truly ignorant do not know their Spider-Man lore.

Too much XP, rather.

I agree that Joe Lieberman (it’s spelled with a Lie) wouldn’t know or benefit from reflective contemplation. But that’s because we know Joe. I’m prepared the give unknown observant Jewish people (see thread about use of noun Jew) the benefit of the doubt. There is no doubt about Holy Joe.

You can’t get this information on the Web?

Spider-Man says, “With Great Power comes Great Responsibility.”
Joe Lieberman says, " With all this Responsibility, I bet I can accumulate a shitload of Power!"

Well, to be fair, if that happened in my house I might not know what the fuck was going on either. But I see your point.

I dunno, dude/dudette.

Wade Boggs ate fried chicken on game day, EVERY DAMN GAME DAY. For seventeen seasons.
You gotta respect that.

And, The Knob Gobbler is a girl I used to date until I realized just how many different Knobs she was Gobbling. Her mouth is now locked in a permanent “Ohhhhh”.

Your conclusion does not follow from your premise. They may be closed to allow their members and staff to spend Sabbath with their families – not as a mitzvah, but as a practical recognition of the desirability of closing on the Sabbath.

The distances aren’t as critical as the from-and-to (not to be confused with the frum-and-to  ). You may not carry from a private space to a public space, even over short distances.

The cardiovascular system, maybe.

I was going to start a “Lieberman is a schmuck” thread but you beat me to it! Not only is he a schmuck, but WHY do people listen to him and take him seriously? He’s a egotistic nut.

The reason they keep listening to him because the Democrats keep convincing themselves that this time Lucy is going to let them kick the ball.

And a cob nobbler is a loser, according to the N.Y. Times.

What? That’s a bizarre assertion. Voting is Lieberman’s job.

I’m done talking about Lieberman. The Democrats pussed out on kicking him out on his ass because they figured it was worth the risk to maintain their paper majority.

Gamble didn’t pay off; time to move on.

I’m not sure that’s the issue here.

A good example for me is Cassius Clay (Mohammad Ali) and his decision to refuse to be inducted into the U.S. Armed Forces. I didn’t agree with the merits of his position; the law required he either serve after his claim of conscientious objector status was found to be bogus. He refused to do so. Of course, many others did too, but he didn’t flee or dodge the issue, and he gave up his boxing license as a result and went to court, was found guilty, and appealed. Disagree or agree about the war and how conscientious objectors were handled, you couldn’t help but admire the man because he stood by his principles at great personal cost.

I can point to any number of people on the left that I have admired for their principled stances, even as I disagreed with them on the issues.

I’m wondering, since you appear to decry the practice of basing such support on the “ideological direction someone is coming from,” if you have anyone on the right that you admire for their steadfast adherence to their principles.
