Hee-Haw Music - "Gloom, despair, agony on me"

OK - Admit you know this bit of musical wonderment.

Now, - What is it’s title, and where can I get a copy?

(I use “Life is A Toil” and the Weaver’s “Goodnight Irene” (Sometimes I live in the country,
Sometimes I live in town.
Sometimes I get a great notion
To jump into the river and drown")
as broadcast messages on my answering machine - would LOVE to add “Gloom” to the rotation.

Thanks

And its immortal sister tune which begins:

"Where, O where, are you tonight/
Why did you leave me here all alone … "

I always thought both tunes were pieces of incidental music native to that show, not something available elsewhere (unless they ever made a soundtrack album to the show.)

First try the various music sharing websites - limewire etc. - surely someone uploaded it somewhere - probably under the popular name “gloom despair” or something similar. Failing that I would try waiting for a rerun and recording it straight off the box, digitally if possible.

If it weren’t for Baaaaaad luck we’d have no luck at allllll, doom dispair and agony on me. . . .

Oh great- now THATS stuck in my head. :stuck_out_tongue:

A while back, there was a Hee-Haw thread whrerein somebody posted a link to some H-H website that was a trove of information regarding shows, stars, guest stars, musical guests, etc. Perhaps that site would have information about the songs…
I searched the world over and thought I’d found true love.
You met another and :p:p:p:p you were gone.

Ah, Hee-Haw! Brings back fond memories of earlier, carefree days. I hope someone can find that link for hours of time-killing here at work.

I had the hots as a lad for about 7 of them Hee-Haw girls. Man, what a good show to help me thru puberty!

My wife and I sometimes watch reruns of “Glen Campbell’s Goodtime Hour” on CMT and laugh at the outifits and corny jokes. Still good entertainment, though. The other night they had Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and someone else I don’t remember on stage at the same time. Neat!

It not a good idea to boil Maple Syrup.
