Hello Bhoys: Celtic vs Liverpool

Celtic vs Liverpool, 8.05pm tonight: what are your predictions for the game, and the tie overall?

Me, I’m fairly sure Celtic will win this leg. Liverpool may theoretically have more talented individual players, but I don’t believe they have anything like the drive Martin O’Neill instils. I’m not so sure about the second leg, but I would not be at all surprised to see Celtic win the tie.

What do you think of [this] assessment of the Celtic squad?

Well, well, well. Within two minutes Celtic hit the bar through Hartson and score through Larsson. Liverpool never even crossed the half-way line.

Here is a live (well, every 2 mins) update of the game.

Aye. I’m watching it on TV and keeping up with [The Guardian]'s usually amusing commentary.

Heskey makes it 1-1. Woo woo, this could be a cracker of a game.

Why are Celtic wearing player names and numbers clearly designed by the same person who did the credits to Battlestar Galactica?

Pity Diouf spoiled the good atmosphere with that spitting incident.

Looks set for a good game in the second leg. I always have fun when the Scots invade Liverpool. Have to arrange a trip downtown to the pubs that day!

Pity it tailed off a little in terms of excitement; I was hoping for another goal or two.

I thought Heskey and Diouf had good games for Liverpool. Diouf was pulling the Celtic defenders every which way, and I had him down as second choice for man-of-the-match until that nasty little incident. He won’t play in the second leg; I can see a three-match ban being rustled up by UEFA imminently.

Man-of-the-match for me is a choice between Djimi Traore (Liverpool) and Jamie Smith (Celtic). Both excellent IMHO.
