A while back, someone posted a thread in which there was a link to finding out your local statistics on environment/health, income, race, poverty . . . a lot of different stuff. I’ve spent about an hour now running different searches and I can’t find it.
Anybody remember what I’m talking about?
I’m not sure what link you saw, but the Census bureau provides a lot of that stuff (sometimes easily discovered and sometimes buried in miles of .pdf).

http://www.city-data.com/ (Double check what they are displaying. The Township in the Southwest corner of my county shares a name with a village that is much farther South in Ohio and their page includes a mish-mosh of information taken from each location and mangled together. I suspect that such errors are more rare if you are dealing with entities larger than a couple thousand people.)
